HDFC Life - Senior Data Scientist - Generative AI & Computer Vision

Job Summary :

We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Scientist with deep expertise in Generative AI and solid exposure to Computer Vision. The ideal candidate will lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced AI solutions, working closely with business stakeholders, product teams, and engineering to solve complex real-world problems.

Key Responsibilities :

Generative AI :

- Design, develop, and deploy Generative AI solutions using LLMs, foundation models, and multimodal models.

- Working knowledge of VLLMs is necessary

- Build and optimize RAG pipelines, prompt engineering frameworks, and agent-based architectures.

- Work with vector databases (e.g., Qdrant, FAISS, Chroma, Pinecone) for semantic search and retrieval.

- Implement LLM evaluation, monitoring, guardrails, and hallucination mitigation strategies.

- Collaborate with platform teams to deploy GenAI solutions on cloud or on-prem environments.

- Stay up to date with latest GenAI research, tools, and frameworks.

- LLM fine-tuning is good to have.

Data Science & Engineering :

- Perform EDA, feature engineering, and model evaluation.

- Write clean, scalable, and production-ready Python code.

- Collaborate with MLOps teams for CI/CD, model versioning, and deployment.

- Translate business problems into data science solutions and communicate insights clearly to stakeholders.

- Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

Core Requirements :

- 6+ years of experience in Data Science / Machine Learning

- Strong proficiency in Python, NumPy, Pandas, PyTorch / TensorFlow

- Hands-on experience with Generative AI & LLMs

- Experience deploying models to production environments

Generative AI - Must Have :

- LLMs (OpenAI, LLaMA, Qwen, Mistral, etc.)

- RAG architectures & embeddings

- Fine-tuning & inference optimization

- Prompt design & evaluation techniques

- Multimodal GenAI exposure is a plus

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP)

- Familiarity with MLOps tools (MLflow, DVC, Airflow, Kubeflow)

- Exposure to NLP + CV hybrid systems

- Experience in building enterprise-grade AI products

- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
