Role Overview :

As a Guidewire PolicyCenter Configuration Developer, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and implementing tailored solutions within the Guidewire PolicyCenter platform. Your daily responsibilities will involve translating complex business requirements into technical specifications, configuring core PolicyCenter functionalities, and customizing the system to meet specific client needs.

You will collaborate closely with business analysts, quality assurance teams, and client stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and deployment of solutions, directly impacting the efficiency and effectiveness of our clients' insurance operations and their ability to deliver superior policy management services.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and implement Guidewire PolicyCenter configurations and customizations using GOSU programming to meet diverse client business requirements.

- Develop and maintain robust Guidewire Integration solutions with external systems, leveraging XML and other relevant technologies to ensure data flow and system interoperability.

- Collaborate with business analysts to translate functional specifications into technical designs for PolicyCenter modules, ensuring alignment with architectural standards.

- Perform thorough unit testing and support system integration testing (SIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure the quality and stability of developed solutions.

- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues within the Guidewire PolicyCenter environment, providing timely and effective solutions to minimize operational disruptions.

- Optimize Guidewire application performance and database interactions, including SQL queries, to enhance system efficiency and user experience.

- Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement within the team.

Required Skillset :

- Proven expertise in Guidewire PolicyCenter configuration and customization, including GOSU programming and Gosu scripting, gained over 3- 10 years in the Guidewire ecosystem.

- Strong understanding of Guidewire architecture and data model, with hands-on experience in developing and integrating Guidewire applications.

- Proficient in Java development and object-oriented programming principles, essential for extending Guidewire functionalities.

- Solid experience with Guidewire Integration patterns, including web services (SOAP/REST), XML, and message queues, for seamless connectivity with external systems.

- Demonstrated ability in SQL for database interaction, query optimization, and data analysis within a Guidewire context.

- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with a methodical approach to identifying and resolving complex technical challenges.

- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams and client stakeholders in a distributed environment.

- Adaptability to work effectively in a remote or hybrid setup, managing priorities and delivering high-quality results independently.
