Key Responsibilities :

- Lead SAP BW/4HANA to SAP Datasphere migration and refactoring initiatives.

- Assess existing BW objects and determine whether they should be migrated, refactored, redesigned, or retired.

- Define target architecture, migration strategy, migration waves, and technical standards.

- Design and develop scalable data solutions using SAP BW/4HANA and SAP Datasphere.

- Refactor complex BW transformations, ABAP/AMDP routines, and business logic into Datasphere-native solutions.

- Lead integration of S/4HANA, ECC, SAP BW/4HANA, and non-SAP/cloud data sources with Datasphere.

- Support integration and migration of BW-based reporting models with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).

- Evaluate and implement appropriate approaches using BW Bridge versus native SAP Datasphere.

- Conduct technical workshops, design reviews, code reviews, and architecture discussions.

- Mentor developers and provide technical guidance to the data engineering team.

- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical and performance-related issues.

- Ensure data quality, security, governance, and performance across data solutions.

- Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, migration plans, and standards.

- Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, project managers, and cross-functional teams.

SAP BW/4HANA Expertise :

- Strong understanding of SAP BW/4HANA architecture and data models.

SAP Business Data Cloud :

- Good understanding of SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC).

- Understanding of data governance principles.

- Good understanding of the role of SAP Datasphere within BDC.

Required Skills :

- 10 - 15+ years of overall IT/SAP experience.

- Strong hands-on experience with SAP BW/4HANA.

- Strong experience in SAP Datasphere development and architecture.

- Proven experience leading BW/4HANA to Datasphere migration and refactoring.

- Strong SQL and data modelling skills.

- Experience integrating SAP and non-SAP/cloud data sources.

- Good knowledge of SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).

- Strong understanding of data architecture and warehousing concepts.

- Ability to design and develop solutions hands-on, not just manage teams.

- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Preferred Skills :

- Knowledge of BW Bridge and experience evaluating BW Bridge versus native Datasphere approaches.

- Experience with SAP HANA / HANA Cloud.

- Exposure to SAP BTP.

- Experience working with Azure and/or GCP.

- Knowledge of SAP Business Data Cloud and modern data architecture.

- Experience with large-scale SAP data modernization programs.

Preferred Candidate Profile :

- 7+ years of SAP BW/BW/4HANA experience.

- 3 - 5+ years of SAP Datasphere experience.

- Strong experience in enterprise-scale SAP data migration and modernization.

- Proven ability to lead technical teams and mentor developers.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

- Ability to independently lead workshops, architecture discussions, design reviews, and complex technical initiatives.
