Functional Project Manager/AI-Enabled Delivery Lead

Location : India, Remote.

Working Hours : 6:30 PM IST to 2:30 AM IST (East zone US timing).

Experience : 8+ years preferred.

About the Role :

We are looking for a highly inquisitive, business-focused, and impact-driven Functional Project Manager who can bridge business needs, product thinking, and technology delivery. This is not a traditional project management role focused primarily on timelines, status reports, and Scrum ceremonies. We need someone who understands the bigger picture, asks the right questions, challenges assumptions, navigates ambiguity, and translates business problems into clear, actionable requirements and execution plans.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience as a Business Analyst, Functional Analyst, Functional Consultant, Product Analyst, or a highly business-focused Project Manager and will have grown into leading complex digital initiatives. AI will be deeply embedded into how this role operates. You will use AI to accelerate project tracking, requirements analysis and breakdown, workshop preparation, documentation, backlog creation, meeting analysis, risk identification, and our AI-Driven Development Lifecycle (AIDLC).

What You Will Do :

- Partner directly with business stakeholders, product teams, architects, UX designers, engineering teams, and leadership to understand business problems and desired outcomes.

- Lead discovery, ideation, requirements, process-mapping, and solution workshops.

- Ask probing questions to uncover real business needs, dependencies, gaps, assumptions, and opportunities.

- Translate high-level business objectives into business capabilities, user journeys, processes, epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and actionable requirements.

- Maintain the big picture while ensuring critical execution details are not missed.

- Manage complex digital projects involving front-end applications, backend services, APIs, microservices, cloud infrastructure, integrations, data, and UX.

- Drive initiatives across the complete lifecycle, from inception and discovery through requirements, design, development, testing, launch, and post-production stabilization.

- Work closely with architects and engineering teams to understand technical dependencies, trade-offs, risks, and delivery constraints.

- Use AI extensively to accelerate requirements breakdown, workshop preparation, project tracking, documentation, backlog refinement, meeting analysis, dependency identification, and delivery insights.

- Identify risks, blockers, cross-team dependencies, unclear ownership, and requirement gaps early and drive them toward resolution.

- Create clear visibility into project health, priorities, milestones, risks, dependencies, and business outcomes.

- Communicate effectively with both business and technical leadership.

- Measure success based on business impact and outcomes, not simply the completion of tasks.

Must-Haves :

- Prior experience as a Business Analyst, Functional Analyst, Functional Consultant, Product Analyst, or Project Manager with strong business and functional responsibilities.

- Strong expertise in at least one industry domain : Healthcare, Financial Services, Retail, Higher Ed or Manufacturing with US based Client.

- Proven experience managing complex digital technology projects involving multiple areas such as front-end applications, backend systems, APIs, microservices, integrations, cloud infrastructure, data, and UX.

- Strong ability to navigate ambiguity and turn loosely defined business problems into structured requirements and execution plans.

- Proven experience breaking down business problems into capabilities, user journeys, epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and actionable requirements.

- Experience independently leading discovery, ideation, requirements, process-mapping, and solution workshops.

- Naturally inquisitive and comfortable asking thoughtful questions, challenging assumptions, identifying gaps, and connecting details to broader business objectives.

- Ability to drive initiatives from inception and discovery through design, development, testing, launch, and stabilization.

- Technical fluency across APIs, microservices, databases, cloud infrastructure, integrations, front-end technologies, and UX.

- Hands-on development experience is not required.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience working directly with US-based business, product, and technology stakeholders.

- Hands-on experience with Agile delivery, backlog management, user stories, acceptance criteria, dependencies, risks, and release planning.

- Strong interest in and practical use of Generative AI tools to improve requirements, project delivery, documentation, and decision-making.

- Must be available to work remotely from 6:30 PM IST to 2:30 AM IST.

What Will Make You Stand Out :

- Experience working in an AI-Driven Development Lifecycle (AIDLC) or using AI extensively throughout software delivery.

- Ability to facilitate executive-level and cross-functional workshops.

- Experience working across multiple products, platforms, or business streams simultaneously.

- Strong product thinking and the ability to connect technology decisions with measurable business outcomes.

- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

- Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Figma, Miro, or similar platforms.

- Experience working with globally distributed engineering and business teams.

Who Will Be Successful in This Role :

- You are someone who naturally asks why, connects dots across teams, and is not satisfied with simply documenting what stakeholders say.

- You dig deeper to understand the actual business problem, challenge assumptions constructively, and help teams reach clarity.

- You can move comfortably between business conversations, UX discussions, architecture reviews, backlog refinement, and project execution.

- You do not need to be a developer or architect, but you should understand enough technology to ask intelligent questions and identify dependencies and risks.

- Most importantly, you take ownership.

- You do not simply report blockers.

- You actively work across teams to resolve them and keep initiatives moving forward.

Who May Not Be a Fit :

Traditional project managers or business analysts whose primary experience is limited to schedules, status reporting, resource tracking, Scrum ceremonies, and meeting coordination may not be a fit for this role.
