Functional Analyst

Role Overview :

We are looking for a Functional Analyst with strong experience in financial aid systems, enterprise application configuration, system integration, data conversion, requirements analysis, and application troubleshooting. The role involves working closely with clients, developers, QA teams, and product teams to implement and support complex business applications.

Key Responsibilities :

- Analyze business requirements and translate them into application configurations, system requirements, workflows, and functional specifications.

- Configure financial aid applications based on client requirements and future-state processes.

- Work on system integrations, APIs, data mapping, data conversion, and data validation.

- Collaborate with developers, architects, QA teams, and product teams throughout the SDLC.

- Create detailed requirements, use cases, workflows, configuration documents, and acceptance criteria.

- Support SIT, UAT, regression testing, defect management, and production implementation.

- Troubleshoot application issues by analyzing error codes, system behavior, logs, and test results.

- Coordinate with development teams to identify root causes and resolve application and integration issues.

- Validate integrations with external applications and ensure accurate data flow across systems.

- Lead discovery sessions, system demonstrations, configuration walkthroughs, and client validation activities.

- Use Jira and Confluence for requirements management, defect tracking, documentation, and project coordination.

- Manage multiple application implementation initiatives and delivery timelines.

- Identify opportunities for system optimization, automation, and process improvements.

- Serve as the liaison between clients, financial aid stakeholders, developers, QA teams, and product teams.

Required Skills :

- 5+ years of experience with financial aid systems, enterprise applications, or complex business systems.

- Strong experience in application configuration and software implementation.

- Experience with APIs, system integration, data conversion, data mapping, and data validation.

- Working knowledge of SQL and database concepts.

- Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.

- Experience with SIT, UAT, regression testing, and defect management.

- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.

- Experience with Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint.

- Ability to translate business requirements into system and functional requirements.

- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to Have :

- Knowledge of Regent or other higher-education financial aid platforms.

- Experience as a Functional Analyst, Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or Functional Consultant.

- Experience with enterprise software implementation and integration projects.

- Experience working with global and remote development teams
