Role Overview :

We are looking for an experienced Functional Analyst who can effectively bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for gathering and analyzing business requirements, defining functional specifications, documenting business processes, and supporting API-based integrations and custom application development projects.

The role requires strong analytical, documentation, stakeholder management, and communication skills, along with a good understanding of APIs, integration requirements, and REST/SOA concepts.

Key Responsibilities :

Requirements Gathering & Analysis :

- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand and document business requirements.

- Conduct requirement-gathering sessions and translate business needs into clear functional requirements.

- Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.

- Create detailed Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) and Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs).

- Develop user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and functional specifications.

- Ensure requirements are clearly understood by technical and development teams.

API & Integration Analysis :

- Analyze business requirements related to API-based integrations.

- Define functional requirements for system-to-system integrations.

- Work with technical teams to understand and document REST and SOA-based integrations.

- Define API requirements, data flows, business rules, and integration scenarios.

- Support API testing and validation using tools such as Postman and Swagger.

- Coordinate with development teams to ensure integrations meet business requirements.

Custom Application Development :

- Work as a functional bridge between business users and development teams on custom application projects.

- Translate business requirements into functional specifications for application development.

- Support solution discussions and clarify functional requirements throughout the development lifecycle.

- Review delivered functionality against business requirements.

- Participate in requirement walkthroughs and functional reviews.

Testing & Deployment :

- Support System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

- Prepare and review test scenarios and test cases from a functional perspective.

- Coordinate defect identification, analysis, tracking, and resolution.

- Work with business and technical teams during defect triage.

- Support production deployment and post-deployment validation.

- Ensure delivered solutions meet documented business requirements.

Stakeholder Management :

- Act as a key point of contact between business stakeholders and technical teams.

- Communicate requirements, functional impacts, and solution changes effectively.

- Conduct requirement walkthroughs and stakeholder discussions.

- Maintain clear and accurate project documentation.

- Ensure alignment between business expectations and technical implementation.

Mandatory Skills :

- 10 to 12 years of experience as a Functional Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, or similar role.

- Strong experience in requirements gathering and business analysis.

- Hands-on experience with :

1. BRDs

2. FRDs

3. User Stories

4. Process Mapping

5. Functional Specifications

- Strong understanding of API analysis and integration requirements.

- Good knowledge of REST and SOA concepts.

- Experience working on custom application development projects.

- Experience supporting :

1. SIT

2. UAT

3. Defect Management

4. Production Deployments

- Familiarity with Postman and/or Swagger.

- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

- Excellent documentation and analytical skills.

Good to Have :

- Experience working on enterprise-scale application development or integration projects.

- Exposure to API lifecycle and integration processes.

- Experience working with cross-functional business and technical teams.

- Exposure to Agile methodologies and delivery environments.

- Experience in Manufacturing, Industrial, Consumer, Life Sciences, or High-Tech domains.
