About the Role :
We are looking for a strong Technical Engineering Manager to lead our product engineering scrum teams. This role requires a hands-on technical leader who can drive execution, own delivery commitments, build scalable systems, and collaborate effectively with Product teams across India and the US.
This is not a coordination-only role. The Engineering Manager is expected to provide strong technical direction, conduct design reviews, guide complex problem-solving, and ensure engineering excellence across the team.
You will work closely with Product Owners in India and Product Managers in the US, operating effectively in a cross-geo environment. The role demands strong stakeholder communication, delivery ownership, and the ability to scale engineering capability while maintaining high standards of quality and performance.
Key Responsibilities :
Delivery & Execution Ownership :
- Own and be accountable for delivery commitments made to Product and executive stakeholders.
- Ensure predictable, high-quality sprint and release execution.
- Identify risks early and drive mitigation plans.
- Drive sprint planning, estimation discipline, and release predictability.
- Communicate delivery status clearly and proactively across stakeholders.
Technical Leadership & Architecture Ownership :
- Own architecture and design decisions for your scrum teams initiatives.
- Collaborate with the central Architecture team for high-complexity reviews and approvals.
- Provide deep technical guidance across backend and frontend systems.
- Adopt and scale your teams for effective usage of AI tools / AI Practices and automation in SDLC process.
- Drive best practices in microservices, distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and hybrid legacy platform.
- Lead design reviews and guide engineering decisions to ensure scalability and reliability.
- Take ownership of production stability and guide root-cause analysis for critical issues.
- Ensure strong code quality practices including reviews, standards, CI/CD, and automated testing.
Engineering Excellence & Process Leadership :
- Champion Agile and Scrum practices with a strong execution mindset.
- Define, track, and improve engineering metrics (velocity, predictability, defect trends, reliability).
- Drive efficient usages of AI tool / AI practices throughout in the SDLC process of the product.
- Drive CI/CD adoption and DevOps alignment across the team.
- Strengthen clean architecture principles, SOLID practices, and scalable design standards.
- Continuously improve engineering processes for sustainable product growth.
Team Leadership & Scaling :
- Hire and scale the engineering team in line with roadmap expansion.
- Conduct performance reviews and drive career development planning.
- Mentor engineers technically and professionally.
- Build a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure PR reviews, design reviews, and engineering rigor are consistently followed.
Required Experience & Skills :
Experience :
- 9 to 14 years of software engineering experience.
- Minimum 2+ years as an Engineering Manager.
- Proven experience scaling engineering teams.
- Experience delivering SaaS products in an Agile environment.
Technical Expertise :
- Strong hands-on background in Java / Spring Boot ecosystem.
- Microservices and distributed systems architecture.
- Event-driven systems and REST APIs.
- Cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
- CI/CD and DevOps practices.
- Experience working with hybrid legacy systems (Struts/JSP modernization exposure preferred).
- AI knowledge preferred; comfort managing AI-powered features desirable.
Leadership & Behavioral Competencies :
- Strong execution-focused leadership style.
- Ability to unblock teams technically and functionally.
- Excellent stakeholder communication skills (must-have).
- Process builder who strengthens engineering practices.
- High ownership and accountability.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

- Successful scaling, hiring, onboarding for your team to meet roadmap needs.
- Strong alignment between India engineering and US product teams.
