Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Software Architect to design and oversee the development of robust, scalable, and secure software solutions for Nispera, our advanced APM (Asset Performance Management) monitoring tool.
Nispera is a unified asset performance management platform that optimizes the operation and maintenance of renewable energy and storage assets, including battery, solar, and wind systems.
The platform ingests real-time and historical operational data, market information, and user inputs to deliver actionable analytics, automated reporting, and predictive maintenance insights for asset owners and operators.
The ideal candidate will help defining and executing the overall software architecture vision, ensuring it aligns with business goals.
Key responsibilities include establishing technical standards, leading the design of scalable and maintainable systems, mentoring engineering teams, and collaborating with other leaders to guide the development of high-quality software solutions.
Major Duties And Responsibilities:
- Strategic and technical leadership: Define and communicate the architecture roadmap, technical standards, and best practices across the organization.
- Translate business strategy and product vision into a tangible technology roadmap, ensuring architectural decisions directly support revenue goals, market expansion, and customer satisfaction.
- System design: Oversee the design and implementation of robust, scalable, and performant Enterprise and Cloud software solutions, often involving controls architecture, backend services, cloud-native technologies, and microservices architecture.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with product management, engineering, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Collaborate with different regions to ensure architectural solutions support all regional and sales needs.
- Mentorship and team guidance: Provide technical direction, mentorship, and coaching to software engineers and development teams.
- Process & Productivity improvement: Lead efforts to reduce technical debt, optimize performance, automation, new technologies, tools, and drive the adoption of modern development practices like CI/CD.
- Establish and enforce architectural standards, design patterns, and best practices across engineering teams.
- Quality and security: Ensure software solutions meet high standards for reliability, performance, security, and compliance.
- Embed privacy, data security, and regulatory compliance into platform design.
- Collaborate with enterprise security and infrastructure teams to proactively identify and mitigate risks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- 12+ years in software development, with at least 5 years in architectural role.
- Proven experience designing distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-native applications.
- Strong system design skills: domain boundaries, data modeling, API design, eventing/queues, caching, and consistency tradeoffs.
- Proven track record of delivering complex software Enterprise projects and large-scale SaaS platforms with a focus on scalability and reliability.
- Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure as code (CDK/Terraform), Git workflows, and automated testing.
- Deep understanding of modern authentication standards such as OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and JWT (JSON Web Tokens).
- Familiarity with React or modern frontend frameworks .
- Good experience with latest AI/ML technologies and productivity tools.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional and international teams.
- Ability to provide mentorship to team members to support their understanding of the architecture and aid in their technical development.
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with AWS cloud platform and knowledge of networking concepts.
- Previous experience in the energy sector, especially renewables or battery storage.
