Senior Manager Data Engineering Delivery

Role Overview :

We are looking for a Senior Manager Data Engineering Delivery to lead end-to-end delivery of data engineering programs, manage high-performing teams, and ensure successful execution of enterprise data initiatives. The role combines strong delivery management, solid technical understanding, and the ability to influence stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities :

Delivery & Program Management :

- Own delivery of data engineering programs from planning to execution.

- Ensure timely, high-quality delivery of data platforms and pipelines.

- Manage scope, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder communication.

- Drive predictable delivery through governance and tracking mechanisms.

Technical Leadership :

- Guide teams on data engineering design and implementation.

- Review solution architecture for scalability, performance, and reliability.

- Support adoption of modern data stack (cloud, streaming, ETL/ELT tools).

- Ensure best practices in data quality, governance, and CI/CD pipelines.

Team Leadership :

- Lead and mentor engineers and technical leads.

- Build a strong engineering culture focused on ownership and execution.

- Support hiring and capability building within the team.

Stakeholder Management :

- Work closely with business and technology stakeholders.

- Translate business requirements into technical delivery plans.

- Act as escalation point for delivery issues.

Thought Leadership :

- Contribute to data strategy discussions and modernization initiatives.

- Promote adoption of modern data engineering practices.

- Bring awareness of emerging trends in data and analytics.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 10 to 15+ years of experience in data engineering or data platform delivery.

- 3 to 5+ years in a senior leadership or delivery management role.

- Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP).

- Hands-on understanding of data pipelines, ETL/ELT, and data architecture.

- Experience with tools like Spark, SQL, Airflow, Kafka, dbt (any relevant stack).

- Proven experience managing cross-functional or distributed teams.
