- Design, build, and maintain high-performance, high-availability backend services and APIs that support frontend developers, mobile client teams, and external partners

- Lead the development of new services and drive architectural decisions within our large-scale microservices and SOA architecture, establishing best practices for distributed systems design

- Lead initiatives to meet performance and scalability goals, and take full ownership of services and components including on-call duties and incident response leadership

- Champion automated testing across the team and create comprehensive documentation to enable self-service and knowledge sharing

- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to hiring and technical interviews

- Leverage AI-powered development tools (such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, or similar) to enhance productivity, code quality, and development workflows

What are we looking for?

- 8 to 12 years of software engineering experience with a degree in Computer Science or a related field, including expert-level coding ability in Java and related frameworks such as Spring Boot

- 7+ years of hands-on experience with AWS, with deep knowledge of core services (EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, ECS/EKS, IAM), cloud networking, security, and cost management

- Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK) and designing multi-region, highly available distributed systems

- Strong object-oriented and functional design abilities, with a focus on clean, maintainable code and a solid understanding of data structures and algorithms

- A track record of leading technical initiatives, mentoring engineers, and delivering results in Agile environments with excellent problem-solving and debugging skills for complex distributed systems

- Full professional proficiency in English (written and spoken), with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

You'll Stand Out If You Have

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, containers (Docker, Kubernetes), and AWS deployment pipelines

- Proficiency in Python and/or Scala

- Experience with Kafka or other message bus / distributed log infrastructure

- Exposure to NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, Cassandra, MongoDB) and SQL databases

- Background in cybersecurity or security-focused product development

- Experience using AI tools for code review, documentation generation, test creation, or architectural analysis
