- Design, build, and maintain backend services providing high-performance, high-availability APIs to frontend developers, mobile client teams, and external partners

- Create new services and extend existing services within our large-scale microservices and SOA architecture

- Contribute to meeting performance and scalability goals, keeping us ahead of growth in the cybersecurity space

- Participate fully in the ownership of your services and components, including on-call duties

- Create documentation to enable self-service and improve team knowledge sharing

- Utilise AI-powered development tools (such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, or similar) to improve productivity and code quality

What are we looking for?

- 5+ years of software engineering experience with a degree in Computer Science or a related field

- Strong coding ability in Java and related frameworks such as Spring Boot, and experience implementing RESTful services with APIs in scalable cloud environments

- 4+ years of hands-on experience with AWS, with working knowledge of core services (EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, ECS) and Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK)

- Experience designing, building, and operating distributed systems, including familiarity with containerisation technologies (Docker) and container orchestration basics

- Strong object-oriented design ability and a solid understanding of data structures and algorithms

- Full professional proficiency in English (written and spoken), with excellent communication skills able to get your point across clearly and concisely, both verbally and in code

- A growth mindset and natural problem-solving approach; you move at a fast pace, take initiative, and appreciate the value of testing and troubleshooting

You'll Stand Out If You Have :

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, or AWS deployment pipelines

- Proficiency in Python and/or Scala

- Familiarity with Kafka or other message bus / distributed log infrastructure

- Exposure to NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, Cassandra, MongoDB) and/or SQL databases

- Background in cybersecurity or security-focused product development

- Experience using AI tools for code generation, debugging, documentation, or test automation
