Role Overview :
As a Privacy Consultant at EY, you will be responsible for assisting clients in navigating the complex landscape of data privacy regulations and implementing effective data protection strategies. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including legal, IT, and business stakeholders, to assess privacy risks, develop compliance frameworks, and implement privacy-enhancing technologies. Your work will directly impact our clients' ability to build trust with their customers, maintain regulatory compliance, and protect their valuable data assets.
Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct comprehensive privacy assessments to identify gaps and vulnerabilities in clients' data protection practices.
- Develop and implement data privacy policies, procedures, and training programs to ensure compliance with applicable regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant laws.
- Advise clients on the design and implementation of privacy-enhancing technologies and data security measures to mitigate privacy risks.
- Support clients in responding to data breaches and privacy incidents, including conducting investigations, notifying affected parties, and implementing remediation plans.
- Provide ongoing monitoring and auditing of clients' data privacy programs to ensure continued compliance and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with legal and IT teams to integrate privacy considerations into new product development and business processes.
- Stay up-to-date on emerging privacy trends, regulations, and technologies to provide informed advice and guidance to clients.
Required Skillset :
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret data privacy regulations, including DPDP Act, GDPR, CCPA, and other global privacy laws.
- Proven ability to develop and implement data privacy policies, procedures, and training programs.
- Strong understanding of data security principles and technologies, including encryption, access controls, and data loss prevention.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex privacy concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field such as law, information security, or business administration.
- Certifications such as IAPP - CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT and DSCI DCPP are preferred
