About the Role :

We are looking for Engineering Managers / Senior Engineering Managers who are builders of systems, not just teams.

This role goes beyond scaling existing architectures - it focuses on re-architecting large-scale distributed systems for an AI-first, platform-first marketplace approaching IPO-level complexity.

Key Responsibilities (KRA) :

- Re-architect and modernize high-scale distributed backend systems for performance, scalability, and resilience

- Design and build real-time decision engines such as pricing, ranking, and liquidity systems

- Drive development of AI-native platforms leveraging LLMs, RAG architectures, and agentic workflows

- Own system-level trade-offs across latency, cost, scalability, and reliability

- Lead end-to-end backend architecture for high-throughput, event-driven systems

- Build and scale platform-first engineering teams with strong ownership and accountability

- Drive execution velocity and ensure timely delivery of complex engineering initiatives

- Establish best practices for system design, code quality, observability, and reliability engineering

- Collaborate with product and business stakeholders to align technical solutions with business goals

- Lead multi-region infrastructure design with focus on failover, fault tolerance, and high availability

- Mentor and grow engineering leaders and senior developers within the team

- Foster a high-performance, innovation-driven engineering culture

Required Skillsets :

- Strong experience in backend development using Java, Go, Python, or Rust

- Proven expertise in building and scaling distributed systems and microservices architectures

- Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures and streaming systems such as Kafka

- Strong understanding of system design principles and large-scale architecture patterns

- Experience with caching and search technologies such as Redis and Elasticsearch

- Deep knowledge of cloud platforms, preferably AWS, including multi-region deployments

- Experience in designing low-latency, high-availability systems

- Exposure to AI/ML systems, including LLMs, RAG pipelines, or agent-based architectures

- Strong understanding of concurrency, performance optimization, and memory management

- Experience working in B2C and/or B2B marketplace ecosystems

- Ability to balance technical decisions with business impact and scalability needs

- Strong leadership experience managing teams of 15-40+ engineers across backend, platform, or infrastructure
