Engineering Manager - Node.js/Python

Description :

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead, mentor, and manage engineering teams delivering complex backend and frontend systems.

- Own end-to-end delivery of projectsfrom architecture and design to development, deployment, and production support.

- Drive best practices in software design, coding standards, testing, and CI/CD pipelines.

- Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.

- Architect and maintain scalable, high-performance systems using modern cloud-native technologies.

- Oversee API design, data modeling, and system integrations.

- Ensure high code quality through reviews, version control, and lifecycle management.

- Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies, including AI/ML solutions, into products.

- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications & Skills :

- 8+ years of experience in backend and/or frontend engineering roles.

- Minimum 2+ years of experience in a technical leadership, engineering manager, or architect role.

- Strong hands-on coding experience with Node.js, Python, and JavaScript.

- Proficiency in building and consuming RESTful APIs and managing background jobs (cron).

- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

- Hands-on exposure to AWS or GCP cloud platforms.

- Strong experience with RDBMS and NoSQL databases including MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, and Elasticsearch.

- Solid understanding of modern frontend technologies : HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and build tools like Webpack and NPM.

- Proficient in Git and modern code lifecycle workflows.

- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and system design skills.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

AI / ML Exposure (Preferred) :

- Working knowledge or hands-on experience with AI/ML concepts such as :

- Personalization engines

- Predictive modeling (risk/fraud)

- NLP applications (chatbots, document classification, extraction)

- Experience integrating AI platforms and APIs such as OpenAI, Gemini, or Anthropic.

- Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks and libraries like Hugging Face, LangChain, or Vertex AI.
