Role Overview :

We are looking for an experienced SQL Database Administrator with strong expertise in database administration, performance optimization, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience managing SQL databases and ensuring their availability, security, and reliability.

Experience with Sybase databases will be an added advantage, while prior experience in the banking or financial services domain is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities :

- Administer, maintain, and monitor SQL databases to ensure high availability, reliability, and optimal performance.

- Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and routine maintenance activities.

- Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization techniques to improve query execution and overall efficiency.

- Manage database backups, restoration, and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and business continuity.

- Troubleshoot database issues, analyze errors, and resolve performance, connectivity, and availability-related problems.

- Manage database security, user access, roles, and permissions in accordance with organizational policies.

- Perform database health checks and proactively identify potential risks or performance issues.

- Support database capacity planning, space management, and resource utilization monitoring.

- Collaborate with application development, infrastructure, and support teams to resolve database-related issues and ensure smooth application operations.

- Maintain database documentation, operational procedures, and technical records.

- Ensure adherence to database management standards, security policies, and operational best practices.

Required Skills & Expertise :

- Strong hands-on experience in SQL database administration.

- Good understanding of database architecture, configuration, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting.

- Experience with database backup, recovery, maintenance, and security management.

- Knowledge of SQL query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning.

- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex database issues.

- Experience with Sybase databases would be an added advantage.

- Prior experience in the banking, BFSI, or financial services domain would be highly preferred.

- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
