Director Of Engineering

Role Overview :

The ideal candidate brings proven experience in delivery leadership, along with the ability to build, manage, and scale high-performing teams in a global delivery environment, aligning engineering outcomes with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities :

- Own the full software development lifecyclefrom requirement gathering to design, development, testing, deployment, and post-production support

- Ensure timely delivery with high quality, scalability, and performance

2. Team Management & Leadership:

- Lead, mentor, and scale multi-functional engineering teams

- Drive hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development

- Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous learning

- Set clear goals, KPIs, and performance expectations

3. Technical Leadership:

- Provide architectural direction across modern technology stacks (Java preferred)

- Ensure best practices in coding, design patterns, and system scalability

- Conduct design and code reviews to maintain engineering excellence

4. Agile Execution:

- Oversee sprint planning, execution, and delivery

- Ensure predictable, efficient, and high-quality release cycles

5. Stakeholder & Client Management:

- Collaborate with business, product, and global stakeholders

- Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions

- Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams

6. Delivery Excellence & Governance:

- Manage risks, dependencies, and delivery timelines

- Ensure adherence to quality standards, SLAs, and cost efficiency

- Track and improve delivery metrics and team productivity

7. DevOps & Production Deployment:

- Oversee CI/CD pipelines, release management, and production stability

- Ensure smooth deployments and quick resolution of production issues

Required Skills & Experience :

- Proven track record in leading large engineering teams (10+ members / multiple squads)

- Strong experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and Sprint-based delivery models

- Exposure to global delivery environments / international stakeholders

- Strong understanding of system design, scalability, and performance optimization

- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and DevOps practices

- Java, Spring Boot, Microservices experience is preferred (not mandatory)

- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills

Qualifications :

- Masters degree (M.Tech / MS) preferred
