Director Engineering - Java/HVAC/IOT/Android

Job purpose & responsibilities :

- Responsible for Technical Direction, Software Development, People Management and Software Product Delivery which includes Architecture and Design Technology Strategy

- Translating high level business requirements into technical functional requirements

- Technical Effort Management: Resource scheduling, task decomposition, and risk management in an Agile environment

- Evaluating and comparing alternate technologies and solutions

- Guiding, coaching and mentoring software and hardware engineering team on design, development best practices & processes

- Establish best engineering practices through compact design decisions, processes and tools

Skills :

- Should have 10 - 15 years relevant work experience with at least 7 years of people management responsibility.

- Significant development and delivery experience in leading complex projects and large teams.

- Should have proven prior experience of thriving in high pressure environments and delivering critical projects on time and to good quality.

- Hands-on coding experience with popular languages and web stacks.

- Experience/interest in designing and developing hardware or connected devices

- Strong ability to collaborate across lines of business (Sales, Technical Support, Services and Corporate Support), partners and customers to drive win-win situations for all.
