DevOps Lead - Azure Platform

Job Summary :

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Lead to design, implement, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure.

The ideal candidate will take ownership of DevOps strategy while leading and mentoring a junior DevOps engineer. This role requires hands-on expertise in CI/CD pipelines, containerization, Kubernetes, and system reliability.

Key Responsibilities :

Leadership & Collaboration :

- Lead, mentor, and review the work of junior DevOps resources.

- Define DevOps best practices, standards, and processes.

- Collaborate with development, QA, and security teams to streamline release cycles.

- Act as the primary point of contact for DevOps-related architecture and decisions.

Infrastructure & Cloud Management :

- Design, build, and maintain highly available and scalable systems on Azure.

- Architect and manage Kubernetes (AKS) clusters, including upgrades and capacity planning.

- Implement and manage auto-scaling for Kubernetes nodes and workloads.

- Ensure system reliability, performance, and security.

CI/CD & Automation :

- Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab, etc.).

- Automate infrastructure provisioning using IaC tools (Terraform, ARM, Bicep preferred).

- Standardize application deployment using Docker and Kubernetes.

Monitoring, Logging & Alerting :

- Implement and continuously improve monitoring and alerting systems.

- Integrate tools such as Datadog, New Relic, Azure Monitor, etc.

- Configure alerting and on-call workflows using OpsGenie, PagerDuty, or similar tools.

- Proactively identify and resolve performance and availability issues.

Skills and Qualifications :

Mandatory Skills :

- 6 to 9 years of experience in DevOps / Site Reliability Engineering / Systems Administration.

- Strong hands-on experience with Azure cloud services.

- Advanced knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.

- Strong experience with Docker and container networking.

- 2+ years of hands-on Kubernetes experience (AKS preferred).

- Strong Linux system administration experience.

- Experience with application deployment using CI/CD pipelines.

- Experience implementing monitoring and alerting solutions.

Good to Have :

- Experience with Kubernetes auto-scaling (HPA, Cluster Autoscaler).

- Experience with security best practices in cloud and container environments.

- Knowledge of GitOps practices and tools.

- Exposure to multi-environment deployments (Dev, QA, UAT, Prod).
