2. Major Responsibilities :

Position Overview :

The IT Infrastructure & Operations Manager will be responsible for managing enterprise-wide IT infrastructure and operations across multiple manufacturing plants/sites. This includes network management, server and storage operations, patch compliance, cybersecurity, end-user services, and IT service desk governance.

A key part of the role is to lead the modernization of infrastructure, including adoption of cloud services, hybrid infrastructures, virtualization, and automation to improve resiliency, agility, and cost efficiency. The role requires close coordination with plant/site IT leads to ensure harmonized operations and standardized practices across all locations.

Key Responsibilities :

Infrastructure Management & Modernization :

- Lead modernization of legacy IT infrastructure to cloud-ready or hybrid architectures.

- Evaluate and implement solutions across Azure/AWS/GCP (as aligned with organizational strategy).

- Drive virtualization, containerization, and migration of workloads to cloud/hybrid platforms.

- Build scalable, secure, and resilient infra supporting manufacturing-critical systems.

- Define the roadmap for infra upgrades, refresh cycles, and digital transformation initiatives.

Network & Connectivity :

- Oversee WAN, LAN, SD-WAN, VPN, Wi-Fi deployments across all plants and offices.

- Ensure high network availability and strengthen connectivity for OT/IT segregation.

- Work with ISPs & OEMs to ensure SLA adherence, redundancy, and performance monitoring.

Server Administration & Patch Management :

- Manage on-prem and cloud server environments (Windows/Linux/VMware/Hyper-V).

- Ensure robust patch management processes and automated OS/firmware updates.

- Maintain cloud VMs, backup solutions, storage, and DR environments.

End User Services & IT Service Desk :

- Govern IT service desk operations using ITIL practices.

- Standardize end-user services (hardware, OS images, software, asset lifecycle).

- Ensure high responsiveness and SLA adherence for incidents and service requests.

- Implement automation tools (RPA, workflows) for common IT tasks.

Information Security & Compliance :

- Implement cybersecurity controls across endpoints, networks, servers, and cloud platforms.

- Operationalize policies for access management, endpoint security, firewall rules, and SIEM monitoring.

- Conduct periodic vulnerability assessments, patch compliance checks, and risk mitigation.

- Support audits (ISO 27001, ITGC, internal, external).

Cross-Plant Coordination & Governance :

- Work collaboratively with IT leads across plants/sites to ensure standardized practices.

- Lead governance reviews for infra performance, incident trends, and security posture.

- Provide guidance and escalation support to site teamsz

Vendor, Budget & Project Management :

- Manage vendors for infra components, cloud services, AMC, licenses, network equipment, etc.

- Drive cost optimization through consolidation, cloud cost governance, and automation.

- Lead IT projects related to infra upgrades, cloud migrations, and security enhancements.

Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery :

- Define and manage BCP/DR strategy for hybrid and cloud environments.

- Ensure regular backup validation, DR drills, and restoration testing.

- Maintain high uptime for critical manufacturing applications.

Required Skills & Competencies :

A. Technical Skills :

Cloud & Hybrid Infrastructure :

- Experience with Azure / AWS / GCP administration.

- Knowledge of IaaS, PaaS, VM provisioning, backup vaults, cloud networking.

- Hands-on experience with cloud migration, modernization, and workload optimization.

- Understanding of hybrid identity (Azure AD, AD Connect).

Infrastructure & Systems :

- Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux servers, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP.

- Expertise with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V).

- Experience with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) preferred but not mandatory.

- Familiarity with monitoring tools (SolarWinds, ManageEngine, PRTG, etc.).

Networking :

- Deep knowledge of routing, switching, firewalls (Fortinet/Cisco/Palo Alto).

- Experience with SD-WAN, network segmentation, Wi-Fi 6 architectures.

- Understanding of OT/IT network security principles (advantage in manufacturing).

Cybersecurity :

- Experience with EDR, MDM/Intune, SIEM/SOC monitoring.

- Knowledge of IAM, role-based access control, MFA/SSO.

- Familiarity with NIST/ISO 27001 controls.

IT Operations :

- Strong understanding of ITIL v3/v4 practices.

- Hands-on experience managing IT service desk operations.

- Skills in automation tools (SCCM/Intune, PowerShell scripts, RPA tools).

B. Managerial & Leadership Skills :

- Ability to lead cross-site teams and manage distributed infra.

- Stakeholder management across manufacturing, operations, and leadership teams.

- Strong project management and vendor negotiation skills.

- Analytical, structured approach to troubleshooting.
