About the Role :


We are looking for an experienced Data Centre Design & Project Manager to lead the end-to-end planning, design, and execution of high-availability, scalable, and secure data centre projects. The role involves DPR preparation, architectural design, vendor management, and project execution, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities :


1. DPR & Planning :


- Prepare comprehensive Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for new or upgrade data centre projects.


- Conduct requirement gathering and feasibility studies aligned with client needs and business continuity goals.

- Define technical, financial, and operational parameters in the DPR, including TCO and ROI estimates.

2. Design & Architecture :


- Create high-availability, scalable, and secure data centre designs covering compute, storage, networking, cooling, power, and physical security.

- Define architecture and sizing based on workloads, virtualisation strategies, and scalability plans.

- Align data centre architecture with Tier standards (TIA-942), ITIL, and other relevant frameworks.

3. Vendor Selection :


- Draft RFP/RFQ/RFI documents for infrastructure, software, and service vendors.

- Evaluate vendor proposals technically and commercially; coordinate pre-bid meetings and support techno-commercial evaluations.

- Assist in contract negotiations and vendor onboarding.

4. Project Management & Execution :


- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies.

- Monitor and manage project deliverables, milestones, and SLAs across the lifecycle.

- Conduct regular reviews with stakeholders, vendors, and internal teams.

- Manage risk, quality assurance, and change control during implementation.

5. Stakeholder & Compliance Management :


- Collaborate with IT, facility, security, and compliance teams to meet regulatory and data localisation requirements.


- Present project updates and technical justifications to senior management and client teams.

Qualifications & Skills :


Required :


- Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

- 10+ years of experience in data centre design, planning, or project delivery (8+ years

considered with strong expertise).

- Hands-on experience in DPR preparation, technical architecture, vendor management, and RFP/bid process management.

- In-depth knowledge of TIA-942, Uptime Institute Tier Certification, ISO 27001, ISO 20000, and other industry standards.

- Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Preferred :

- Certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, ITIL, CDCP, or DCT.

- Experience with both greenfield and brownfield data centre projects.
