Database Administrator - PostgreSQL

Experience : 5-8 years

Requirements :

- 5+ years of experience in PostgreSQL database administration

- Proficient in coding stored procedures for optimal database operations

- Hands-on experience working with Linux OS, including shell scripting

- Extensive experience working in AWS and Azure environments for database management and deployment

- Previous experience with an organization that relies on 24x7 database services

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and initiative-taking skills

- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with teams

Key Responsibilities :

- Administer and optimize PostgreSQL databases, ensuring they are highly available, secure, and perform at their best

- Design and implement database architectures, including partitioning, normalization, and schema management

- Provide performance tuning and capacity planning for large-scale PostgreSQL databases in both cloud and on-prem environments

- Manage backup and recovery processes, ensuring minimal downtime in case of failure

- Ensure high availability and replication strategies are in place for 24x7 database services

- Write and maintain stored procedures to automate and optimize routine tasks

- Handle database upgrades and patching with minimal disruption to the production environment

- Collaborate with other teams to understand business requirements and provide technical solutions

- Develop and maintain shell scripts and other automation processes for database management

- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly and efficiently
