Database Administrator - Performance Tuning

Description :

We are looking for a Database Administrator (DBA) with 35 years of experience to manage and maintain databases, ensure performance, availability, and security, and support production environments. The candidate will be responsible for database monitoring, query optimization, backups, and troubleshooting database issues.

Key Responsibilities :

- Install, configure, and maintain databases

- Monitor database performance and health

- Optimize slow queries and improve performance

- Manage database backups and recovery

- Ensure database security and access control

- Troubleshoot database issues

- Monitor storage and capacity

- Support production and development environments

- Maintain database documentation

- Ensure high availability and reliability

Required Skills :

- Strong SQL knowledge

- Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, etc.)

- Query optimization and performance tuning

- Database backup and recovery

- Indexing and query analysis

- Database monitoring

- Troubleshooting skills

Good to Have :

- Cloud databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, etc.)

- Replication and high availability

- Stored procedures and functions

- Database migration

- Linux basics

- Scripting (Shell/Python)

- DevOps exposure

Database Responsibilities :

Experience :

- 35 years as a DBA or similar role
