Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and proactive Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with 3+ years of experience in managing and maintaining Oracle database environments.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring high availability, performance, and security of mission-critical databases.

This role requires a strong understanding of Oracle database architecture, backup and recovery processes, tuning, and real-time monitoring.


Key Responsibilities :


- Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle database software across development, test, and production environments.

- Manage database backup and recovery strategies using RMAN and Data Pump.

- Monitor database performance, tune SQL queries, and troubleshoot bottlenecks.

- Perform routine database maintenance, patching, and capacity planning.

- Implement database security policies, including user roles, access controls, and data encryption.

- Support high availability and disaster recovery configurations like Data Guard, RAC (if applicable).

- Work closely with application developers and system administrators to optimize system performance.

- Automate repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency using scripts (Shell, PL/SQL, etc.

- Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, processes, and procedures.


Required Skills and Qualifications :


- 3+ years of hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA (preferably with Oracle 12c/19c).

- Strong knowledge of Oracle architecture, SQL, PL/SQL, tablespaces, indexes, and schemas.

- Experience with RMAN, Data Pump, and Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).

- Proficient in performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting.

- Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.

- Understanding of high availability and disaster recovery mechanisms.

- Knowledge of Oracle security, auditing, and compliance standards.

- Good communication skills and the ability to support cross-functional teams.


Preferred Qualifications :


- Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) or Oracle Certified Professional (OCP).

- Experience with Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, or Cloud DB services (Oracle Cloud, AWS RDS, etc.

- Exposure to NoSQL or other RDBMS like MySQL/PostgreSQL is a plus.


Educational Qualification :


- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
