Role Summary

We are seeking a high-caliber Sr. Data Modeler to serve as the lead architect and blueprint designer for a global consumer healthcare client. In this role, you will be the expert resource responsible for harmonizing complex datasets across Customer, Finance, and Product domains to create a single source of truth.

You will leverage Erwin for sophisticated conceptual, logical, and physical modeling while utilizing Databricks (PySpark/Delta Lake) to design scalable Lakehouse pipelines.

The ideal candidate possesses deep CPG/Retail domain expertise, with the ability to translate intricate business conceptssuch as sales vs. shipments and syndicated third-party datainto robust data relationships. Acting as an independent leader, you will collaborate with senior stakeholders across IT, Legal, and Finance to balance technical standards with real-world business requirements.

Responsibilities :

- Data Blueprint Design : Architect the end-to-end blueprint for data flow across the enterprise, ensuring clean, standardized, and high-performance data structures.

- Advanced Multi-Layer Modeling : Lead the design and maintenance of Conceptual, Logical, and Physical data models using Erwin (or similar tools) to support enterprise analytics.

- Databricks Lakehouse Engineering : Design and build curated data layers and scalable pipelines using PySpark, Delta Lake, and Databricks SQL within a Lakehouse architecture.

- Domain Integration : Translate CPG/Retail business concepts, including customer/product hierarchies and syndicated data (IRI/Nielsen), into technical data schemas.

- Source of Truth Harmonization : Harmonize disparate datasets from Finance, Sales, and Third-party sources to eliminate data silos and ensure trusted reporting.

- Stakeholder Orchestration : Collaborate cross-functionally with IT, Legal, and Finance to define data relationships that meet both business needs and compliance standards.

- Data Governance & Lineage : (Nice to Have) Drive data standards and metadata management using tools like Collibra or Alation to ensure transparency and lineage.

- Cloud Architecture & CI/CD : Implement best practices for cloud analytics (Azure/AWS/GCP) and incorporate CI/CD patterns for automated data deployment.

- Strategic Leadership : Manage senior-level expectations, contribute innovative architectural solutions, and provide mentorship to junior team members or vendor partners.

- Independent Execution : Operate with high autonomy to lead complex data initiatives from discovery through to production-ready curated layers.

Technical Requirements

- Data Engineering Foundation : 8+ years of overall experience, with at least 5 years focused exclusively on Data Modeling.

- Databricks Expertise : 35 years of hands-on experience with Databricks (Delta Lake/Lakehouse), specifically designing curated layers for CPG/Retail analytics.

- Modeling Tools : Advanced proficiency in Erwin, ER/Studio, or similar enterprise modeling software.

- CPG/Retail Functional Knowledge : Deep understanding of Sales vs. Shipments, Product Information Management (PIM), and Financial data structures.

- SQL & PySpark : Expert-level SQL and advanced PySpark skills for data transformation and pipeline optimization.

Preferred Skills

- Metadata Management : Experience with data catalogs and lineage tools (Collibra, Alation, or Informatica EDC).

- Technical Mentorship : Prior experience guiding vendor teams or leading internal data engineering workstreams.

- Interoperability Patterns : Knowledge of how data models interface across multi-cloud or hybrid environments.

- Agile Delivery : Experience working in high-velocity Agile teams with a focus on "Data-as-a-Product."
