Data Modeler/Data Engineer - SQL/ETL

Job Summary :

We are looking for an experienced Data Modeler / Data Engineer with strong expertise in data

modeling, SQL, ETL, and data warehousing concepts. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience
delivering enterprise-scale data solutions, is comfortable working in Agile environments, and brings
strong analytical and communication skills. This role translates business requirements into scalable,
secure, and high-performance data solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

Data Modeling and Database Design :

- Design, develop, and maintain logical and physical data models for enterprise data platforms.

- Use data modeling tools such as Erwin Data Modeler, ER Studio, Toad, or similar tools to

- Ensure data models align with business requirements, performance standards, and scalability

SQL and Data Engineering :

- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries for data analysis, reporting, reconciliation, and

- Support performance tuning and efficient data retrieval through indexing, query optimization, and

- Partner with engineering teams to deliver robust, enterprise-grade database solutions.

ETL and Data Warehousing :

- Implement basic ETL processes including extraction, transformation, mapping, and loading based

- Ensure ETL implementations meet documented specifications and produce consistent results

- Apply data warehousing concepts including fact tables, dimension tables, and star or snowflake

Data Quality and Profiling :

- Apply data profiling and data quality checks to validate accuracy, completeness, and consistency.

- Identify anomalies, perform root cause analysis with stakeholders, and drive resolution.

- Use data quality and profiling tools where applicable and document findings and fixes.

Visualization Support (Optional) :

- Support reporting needs by ensuring data models are analytics-ready and align with BI

- Collaborate with analytics teams on semantic definitions, KPI logic, and data availability.

Required Skills :

- Strong understanding of data modeling principles, normalization, and dimensional modeling.

- Working knowledge of ETL concepts and data pipeline best practices.

- Sound understanding of data warehousing concepts and OLAP reporting needs.

- Experience working in Agile delivery models with clear documentation and stakeholder communication.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience with cloud data platforms or modern data stacks (tooling depends on project).

- Exposure to data governance, security, and access control practices.

- Experience supporting BI tools and visualization layers for reporting.

Education and Experience :

- 3 to 7 years of relevant experience in data modeling and data engineering roles.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent
