Data Lead

Overview :

We are looking for an experienced Data Lead to spearhead our data initiatives, manage a growing data team, and establish best practices across data engineering, analytics, and governance. The ideal candidate has a strong background in building and scaling data platforms, leading cross-functional initiatives, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.

As a Data Lead, you will be responsible for defining our data strategy, overseeing the design and execution of robust pipelines, ensuring data quality and governance, and partnering with stakeholders across product, engineering, and business teams.

Responsibilities :

Leadership & Strategy :

- Define and drive the organizations data vision, strategy, and roadmap.

- Manage, mentor, and grow a team of data engineers, analysts, and scientists.

- Partner with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to align data initiatives with company goals.

- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable ETL/ELT pipelines.

- Oversee data architecture across cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and tools (Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, etc.).

- Ensure high availability, performance, and cost efficiency of data platforms.

Data Governance & Quality :

- Establish and enforce data governance policies, security standards, and compliance.

- Implement monitoring, testing, and alerting frameworks for data quality and reliability.

Analytics & Insights

- Enable stakeholders with clean, reliable, and timely data for decision-making.

- Define and track key product, business, and operational KPIs.

- Promote a data-driven culture across teams through training and advocacy.

Required Skills :

- 7+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or related roles, with at least 2+ years in a leadership capacity.

- Strong expertise in SQL, Python, and modern data frameworks (e.g., PySpark, dbt).

- Hands-on experience with cloud data warehouses (Databricks, BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift) and orchestration tools (Airflow, Databricks, Prefect).

- Proven ability to design and manage data architecture at scale (batch + streaming).

- Deep understanding of data governance, compliance (GDPR/CCPA), and security practices.

- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

- Experience working in fast-paced environments, ideally in SaaS, adtech, or consumer data platforms.
