Role Overview :

As a Data Archiving Architect, you will serve as the strategic lead for managing the lifecycle of enterprise data within complex SAP landscapes.

You will be responsible for designing and implementing robust archiving strategies that optimize system performance, ensure regulatory compliance, and reduce total cost of ownership for our clients.

Working closely with cross-functional IT teams, business process owners, and infrastructure stakeholders, you will translate technical requirements into scalable archiving solutions.

Your work directly impacts the stability and efficiency of mission-critical systems, ensuring that business operations remain agile while maintaining data integrity and accessibility across the organization.

This role offers the flexibility to work from any location in India, allowing you to collaborate with diverse teams in a high-impact, remote-first environment.

Key Responsibilities :

- Architect end-to-end SAP ILM solutions to streamline data retention policies, ensuring that business data remains compliant with global legal and audit requirements.

- Lead the technical execution of large-scale data archiving projects within SAP ECC environments to improve system response times and reduce database footprint for our global clients.

- Collaborate with SAP Security teams to define and enforce strict access controls and data privacy protocols, ensuring that archived information remains secure and protected from unauthorized access.

- Provide expert guidance during SAP implementation and migration phases, proactively identifying data volume management opportunities to prevent future performance bottlenecks.

- Analyze complex business processes to determine optimal archiving objects and retention periods, balancing the need for historical data availability with system performance goals.

Required Skillset :

- Demonstrated expertise in designing and deploying SAP ILM and archiving strategies within SAP ECC environments, with a deep understanding of data volume management.

- Proven ability to integrate SAP Security best practices into archiving workflows, ensuring that data governance and compliance standards are consistently met.

- Strong consultative communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical archiving concepts to non-technical stakeholders and business leaders.

- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities, specifically in troubleshooting archiving job failures and optimizing data retrieval processes.

- Ability to thrive in a remote or distributed work environment, maintaining high levels of self-motivation and accountability while managing multiple project workstreams.

- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, complemented by 8 to 10 years of professional experience in SAP technical roles.
