Cybage - Quality Assurance Engineer - EDI/IDoc

Essential duties and responsibilities :

EDI and IDOC test strategy and execution :

- Design and execute test scripts for inbound and outbound EDI transactions and their IDOC counterparts (for example ORDERS, ORDRSP, DESADV, INVOIC, SHPMNT, WHSCON).

- Validate segment and field level mapping between partner formats (ANSI X12, EDIFACT) and SAP IDOC structures.

- Confirm control record, status record, and partner profile accuracy across message types.

- Build and maintain regression suites for high volume, recurring partner flows.

Interface and mapping validation :

- Verify Seeburger mapping logic, translation rules, and acknowledgment handling (997, CONTRL) against functional specifications.

- Confirm end to end data integrity from partner transmission through middleware to the S/4HANA document.

- Validate error handling, reprocessing, and reconciliation paths for failed transmissions.

- Test partner onboarding and repointing scenarios, including qualifier, ISA/GS envelope, and connectivity changes.

Defect management and governance :

- Log, triage, and track defects in SAP Cloud ALM with clear severity, reproduction steps, and evidence.

- Perform root cause analysis with development, functional, and Seeburger integration teams.

- Confirm retests and closure against documented expected results.

- Maintain traceability from business process to test case to requirement to interface object.

Test data and environment readiness :

- Prepare representative master and transactional data for realistic EDI and IDOC scenarios.

- Validate partner profiles, ports, RFC destinations, and output determination in the test client.

- Confirm middleware connectivity and certificate validity before cycle start.

- Support entrance and exit criteria validation for ST, IT, and UAT cycles aligned to SAP Activate.

Monitoring and production support in a COE model :

- Provide L2 and L3 QA support for EDI and IDOC incidents, defects, and service requests.

- Use IDOC monitoring transactions (WE02, WE05, WE19, BD87) and Seeburger monitoring to isolate failures.

- Support cutover, go live, and hypercare with interface validation and reconciliation.

- Maintain test documentation, defect logs, and support runbooks for recurring interface issues.

Quality and reporting :

- Apply consistent test evidence standards so readiness is provable, not asserted.

- Produce daily execution, defect aging, and interface readiness reporting for leadership visibility.

- Contribute to regression and negative testing coverage across partner and document variations.

Required qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.

- 3+ years of QA or integration testing experience, including EDI and IDOC interfaces.

- Hands on experience validating IDOC processing in SAP, including S/4HANA.

- Working knowledge of ANSI X12 and EDIFACT standards and common transaction sets.

- Experience testing cross module integration across SD, MM, EWM, TM, and FI/CO.

- Proven defect management and production troubleshooting capability.

- Ability to write clear test scripts, expected results, and defect documentation.

- Effective collaboration with functional, development, and middleware teams.

Preferred qualifications :

- Hands on experience with Seeburger BIS mapping, monitoring, and acknowledgment handling.

- Experience in SAP S/4HANA RISE Private Cloud operations and constraints.

- Familiarity with SAP Integration Suite, CPI, or PI/PO in an EDI context.

- Experience with SAP Cloud ALM for defect, change, and test management.

- Familiarity with SAP Activate delivery artifacts and disciplined release management.

- Exposure to trading partner onboarding, EDI qualifier setup, and connectivity testing.
