Cognizant - Senior FP&O Functional Consultant - MS Dynamics 365

About the Role :

We are looking for a Senior FP&O Functional Consultant with deep experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations to lead functional solution design, ERP transformation, business process optimization, and enterprise implementation initiatives.

The candidate will work closely with finance leadership, business stakeholders, solution architects, technical teams, and implementation partners to design scalable solutions across financial and operational processes.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead functional solution design for D365 Finance & Operations implementations and transformation programs.

- Conduct discovery workshops with finance and business leadership.

- Analyze current-state processes and define future-state business processes.

- Provide functional leadership across finance, procurement, supply chain, project accounting, and related business areas.

- Design solutions across relevant D365 F&O modules.

- Translate business requirements into functional specifications and solution designs.

- Lead functional workshops, requirement gathering, process mapping, and fit-gap analysis.

- Ensure solutions maximize standard D365 capabilities while minimizing unnecessary customizations.

- Work with technical architects on integrations, extensions, data migration, reporting, and technical feasibility.

- Review functional specifications and guide development teams.

- Define and oversee functional testing, SIT, UAT, regression testing, and business sign-off.

- Lead functional defect triage and resolution.

- Support data migration strategy, mapping, reconciliation, and validation.

- Drive cutover, go-live, hypercare, and transition activities.

- Mentor functional consultants and provide guidance on D365 F&O best practices.

- Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, process optimization, and operational efficiency.

- Prepare solution documentation, process maps, executive presentations, and functional recommendations.

- Support ERP roadmap planning and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Experience :

- 12 - 15 years of ERP functional consulting experience.

- Significant hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.

- Strong experience leading D365 F&O implementation and transformation programs.

- Deep understanding of enterprise finance and operational processes.

- Experience engaging with senior business stakeholders.

- Strong solution design, fit-gap analysis, and process transformation experience.

- Experience leading functional workstreams and consulting teams.

- Strong stakeholder, client, and vendor management skills.

- Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Preferred :

- Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O certification.

- Experience with global D365 implementations.

- Consulting/client-facing experience.

- Experience with ERP modernization and transformation programs.

- Exposure to Power Platform, Azure, and enterprise analytics.
