Role & Responsibilities :
- Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of scalable, secure, and highly available cloud platform infrastructure across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Define and drive the cloud platform strategy, architecture, standards, and best practices aligned with business and engineering objectives.
- Lead platform engineering initiatives covering Kubernetes, containers, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation), CI/CD, networking, IAM, observability, and automation.
- Build and maintain reusable cloud platforms, services, and tooling that enable development teams to deploy and operate applications efficiently.
- Establish and enforce cloud security, governance, compliance, access management, and operational standards.
- Drive infrastructure automation and eliminate manual processes through DevOps, GitOps, Infrastructure as Code, and self-service capabilities.
- Own platform reliability, scalability, performance, availability, and disaster recovery/business continuity.
- Implement cloud monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability solutions to improve system health and operational visibility.
- Identify opportunities for cloud cost optimization (FinOps) while maintaining performance, reliability, and security.
- Lead cloud migration, modernization, and platform transformation initiatives.
- Define and monitor key SLA/SLO/SLI metrics and drive continuous improvement in platform reliability.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, networking, deployment, and production issues and provide technical direction during critical incidents.
- Collaborate closely with Software Engineering, DevOps, SRE, Security, Architecture, and Product teams.
- Conduct architecture/design reviews and provide technical guidance on cloud-native solutions.
- Mentor and technically guide engineers, establish engineering best practices, and contribute to team capability development.
- Evaluate new cloud technologies and tools and recommend solutions based on business requirements, security, scalability, and cost.
- Maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, operational runbooks, and platform standards.
Preferred Candidate Profile :
- 5 - 10 years of experience in Cloud Infrastructure, Cloud Engineering, DevOps, SRE, Platform Engineering, or related roles.
- Proven experience designing and managing enterprise-scale cloud platforms on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Strong hands-on expertise in at least one major cloud platform, preferably AWS or Azure.
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker/containers, Linux, networking, IAM, DNS, load balancing, and cloud security.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices, with experience using tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar.
- Experience with observability and monitoring platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, Datadog, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, or equivalent.
- Experience implementing high availability, disaster recovery, backup, scalability, and reliability strategies.
- Understanding of cloud security, governance, compliance, secrets management, and least-privilege access.
- Experience with cloud cost optimization / FinOps is desirable.
- Strong scripting/automation skills using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar.
- Experience leading technical initiatives and mentoring engineers.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to translate business and application requirements into secure, scalable, reliable, and cost-effective cloud architectures.
- Experience working in Agile/DevOps engineering environments.
- Relevant certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect/DevOps, Azure Solutions Architect/DevOps Engineer, Google Professional Cloud Architect, CKA/CKAD, or Terraform Associate are an advantage.
