Citrix Architect

Description :

- Design scalable, high-availability Citrix architectures across on?prem, hybrid, and cloud environments.

- Lead architectural decisions for application virtualization, desktop virtualization, and user access models.

Virtual Desktop & Application Security :

Design secure access architectures for :

1. App Virtualization

2. Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI)

- Identify and close security control gaps in virtual apps and desktop environments.

- Ensure secure application delivery while maintaining optimal end-user experience.

Identity, Access & Zero Trust Integration :

- Integrate Citrix environments with Entra ID (Azure AD) for authentication and access control.

- Design Conditional Accessaware access paths for Citrix apps and desktops.

- Enforce access to Citrix workloads only from trusted users, compliant devices, and approved locations.

- Implement secure external and partner access using modern identity controls.

Endpoint, Browser & Secure Access Integration :

- Align Citrix access with managed device and browser security posture.

- Support rollouts of secure browser and app access for virtualized workloads.

- Ensure Citrix environments align with broader Intune, Entra ID, and M365 security strategies.

Cloud & Modern Workspace Evaluation :

- Evaluate Windows 365 (W365) fitment and coexistence with Citrix solutions.

- Provide architectural recommendations for Citrix vs W365 vs AVD based on security, cost, and user needs.

- Support modernization initiatives for digital workspace transformation.

Governance & Best Practices :

- Establish and enforce Citrix security, performance, and access best practices.

- Work with identity and security teams to align Citrix controls with enterprise Zero Trust principles.

- Provide architectural guidance, documentation, and standards.

Required Skills & Expertise :

Core Technical Skills :

- Proven experience as a Citrix Architect / Senior Citrix SME.

Strong expertise in :

1. Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD)

2. Citrix DaaS

3. Application & Desktop Virtualization

- Solid understanding of Citrix security architecture, access control, and performance

optimization.

- Hands-on experience integrating Citrix with Entra ID and modern authentication.

Security & Identity :

- Strong understanding of security principles, Zero Trust, and least-privilege access.

- Experience designing secure access for internal and external users.

- Exposure to Conditional Access concepts and identity-aware access enforcement.

Soft Skills :

- Highly motivated, proactive, and takes ownership.

- Strong communication skills for architecture discussions with stakeholders.

- Ability to lead design decisions and guide implementation teams.

Nice to Have :

- Experience with Intune, Conditional Access, and endpoint-driven access controls.

- Exposure to Defender for Cloud Apps or CASB integrations.

- Citrix certifications (CCPV, CCEV, CCExV).

- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure / AWS) supporting Citrix workloads.
