Role : CICS Admin/System Programmer

Role Overview :

This pivotal role involves the expert administration and system programming of critical CICS environments on z/OS mainframes, serving as the backbone for our high-volume transaction processing systems. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring the stability, performance, and security of these foundational systems, which are vital to our core business operations.

You will collaborate extensively with application development teams, infrastructure engineers, and various business stakeholders across our Bangalore and Mumbai offices to deliver robust, efficient, and scalable mainframe solutions. Your contributions will directly impact the reliability of our services, ensuring seamless operations and an uninterrupted experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities :

- Administer and maintain complex CICS regions and associated system software on z/OS, ensuring high availability and optimal performance for critical business applications.

- Design, implement, and test CICS system upgrades, patches, and configurations, collaborating with vendors and internal teams to minimize disruption and enhance system capabilities.

- Troubleshoot and resolve intricate CICS and z/OS-related issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing preventative measures to uphold system integrity and operational efficiency.

- Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools for CICS administration tasks, streamlining processes and improving overall system management for greater team productivity.

- Provide expert consultation and technical guidance to application development teams on CICS best practices, performance tuning, and new feature adoption, fostering a collaborative development environment.

- Monitor CICS system health, capacity, and resource utilization, proactively identifying potential bottlenecks and recommending solutions to ensure scalable and resilient infrastructure.

- Ensure adherence to stringent security policies and compliance standards within the CICS environment, protecting sensitive data and maintaining regulatory alignment.

Required Skillset :

- Demonstrated expertise in CICS administration, including installation, configuration, tuning, and problem determination, acquired over 5 - 15 years of hands-on experience in a large-scale mainframe environment.

- Deep understanding of z/OS operating system fundamentals, JCL, VSAM, and related mainframe utilities, crucial for effective system programming and support.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues under pressure with minimal supervision.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse technical and business teams across our global footprint.

- A proactive approach to system management, with a commitment to continuous improvement, operational excellence, and embracing new technologies.

- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related engineering discipline is highly desirable, providing a strong theoretical foundation.
