Role : Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Location : Mumbai, Maharashtra, India

Reporting To : COO

Role Summary :

The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will lead the technology vision, architecture, and execution for GTS global platforms, including Omnichannel CPaaS, RCS, Network APIs, and other products & solutions.

The CTO will be responsible for building scalable, secure, and high-performance platforms, driving innovation, and ensuring technology capabilities support both MNO and enterprise clients globally. This role will partner closely with Product, Revenue, and Operations teams to enable business growth and differentiation.

Key Responsibilities :

- Technology Strategy & Vision : Define and execute the long-term technology roadmap aligned with business and product strategy; drive innovation across telecom, CPaaS, and API ecosystems; ensure technology scalability, flexibility, and future readiness (5G, cloud-native, AI).

- Platform Architecture & Engineering : Lead the design and development of scalable, high-availability platforms including Omnichannel CPaaS, RCS for Business, and Network APIs; ensure low latency, high throughput, and global reliability.

- Infrastructure & Cloud Management : Drive cloud-native architecture and infrastructure strategy (AWS/Azure/GCP or hybrid); ensure systems are highly available, resilient, and cost-efficient.

- Security, Compliance & Reliability : Establish best-in-class cybersecurity practices and data protection frameworks; ensure compliance with telecom regulations, data privacy laws, and international standards.

- AI & Automation : Leverage AI/ML for intelligent routing, fraud detection, predictive analytics, and performance optimization; introduce automation across development, testing, monitoring, and operations (DevOps, AIOps).

- Engineering Excellence & Delivery : Implement agile methodologies and modern engineering practices (CI/CD, microservices, APIs); ensure faster time-to-market and high-quality releases.

- Collaboration with Product & Business : Partner with CPO to translate product vision into scalable technology solutions; work with CRO and CMO teams to support customer requirements and new opportunities.

- Vendor & Partner Ecosystem : Manage relationships with technology vendors, telecom operators, and platform providers; drive integration strategies with MNOs and enterprise systems.

- Technology Budget & Investment Strategy : Optimize technology budgets by aligning investments with business goals; make informed build vs. buy decisions to ensure the right balance between scalability, flexibility, and expenses.

- Platform Performance & Optimization Framework : Establish and track platform performance using well-defined KPIs, SLAs, and real-time metrics.

- Technical Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement : Act as the senior technical representative for the Board, investors, regulators, partners, and customers; lead technical due diligence.

Qualifications :

- Bachelors or masters degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.

- Advanced qualifications in cloud, architecture, or security are a plus.

Experience :

- 18+ years of experience in technology leadership roles.

- At least 8 years in a senior leadership position (CTO / VP Engineering / Head of Technology).

- Strong experience in telecom, CPaaS, messaging platforms, or SaaS infrastructure.

- Proven experience building large-scale, high-availability systems.

Key Skills :

- Deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud architecture, and APIs.

- Strong understanding of telecom protocols (SMPP, SS7, SIP, Diameter, etc.).

- Experience with high-volume transaction systems and real-time processing.

- Strong leadership and team-building capabilities.

- Strategic thinking with hands-on technical understanding.

- Ability to bridge business needs with technology solutions.
