CGI - Senior Camunda Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Senior Camunda Developer with 5 - 8 years of experience in software engineering and handson expertise in Camunda 8, BPMN process orchestration, microservices, and eventdriven architectures. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, deploying, configuring, and maintaining Camundabased workflow automation solutions while ensuring platform stability, scalability, and performance.

The candidate will serve as a technical reference for the Camunda platform, supporting platform administration, workflow implementation, CI/CD integration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization. The role involves close collaboration with development, DevOps, architecture, and business teams to deliver efficient and scalable process orchestration solutions.

Key Roles & Responsibilities :

- Manage the deployment, configuration, administration, and maintenance of the Camunda 8 platform and its core components, including Zeebe, Camunda Modeler, Operate, Connectors, PostgreSQL, and Elasticsearch.

- Ensure platform availability, stability, scalability, security, and optimal performance across development, testing, and production environments.

- Configure and maintain Camunda environments, clusters, workspaces, and platformlevel components.

- Perform platform upgrades, version management, configuration tuning, and infrastructure optimization.

- Establish best practices for Camunda platform administration, governance, and operational maintenance.

- Design, develop, and implement complex business workflows using Camunda 8 and BPMN 2.0.

- Translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable, and efficient process orchestration solutions.

- Develop and optimize workflow models, service tasks, user tasks, gateways, events, and process variables.

- Implement process orchestration using Zeebe, Camunda Connectors, and external service integrations.

- Conduct technical reviews of BPMN models and provide recommendations to improve process efficiency, reliability, and reusability.

- Identify opportunities to automate business processes and improve workflow execution.

- Design and implement Camundabased orchestration solutions integrated with microservices and enterprise applications.

- Develop and manage REST API integrations, asynchronous communication, and eventdriven workflows.

- Integrate Camunda with backend services, databases, thirdparty applications, and distributed systems.

- Implement error handling, retries, incident management, and compensation mechanisms for reliable process execution.

- Ensure seamless communication between Camunda components and external services while maintaining data consistency.

- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Camunda applications using Jenkins and GitLab CI.

- Containerize Camundarelated applications and services using Docker and deploy them using Kubernetes.

- Support the deployment and configuration of Camunda 8 across cloud and containerized environments.

- Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to automate deployment, configuration management, and release processes.

- Manage environment configurations, secrets, deployment strategies, and infrastructure dependencies.

- Ensure deployment consistency across development, staging, and production environments.

- Monitor Camunda platform health, workflow execution, job processing, and infrastructure performance.

- Use Camunda Operate and monitoring and observability tools to identify, analyze, and resolve process execution issues.

- Troubleshoot incidents related to Zeebe, connectors, BPMN workflows, integrations, and underlying infrastructure.

- Analyze system bottlenecks and optimize workflow execution, resource utilization, and application performance.

- Establish monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational best practices to ensure platform reliability.

- Support root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to minimize recurring production issues.

- Act as a technical reference for Camunda platform administration, BPMN modeling, and workflow orchestration.

- Guide developers and platform users in environment setup, workspace configuration, workflow implementation, and troubleshooting.

- Conduct code reviews, BPMN model reviews, and technical assessments to ensure adherence to engineering standards.

- Collaborate with architects, business analysts, developers, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver endtoend solutions.

- Provide technical documentation, implementation guidelines, and knowledgesharing sessions.

- Contribute to Agile development practices, sprint planning, technical discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Skills & Technical Requirements :

- 58 years of overall software engineering experience.

- Strong handson experience with Camunda 8 and Zeebe.

- Experience in BPMN 2.0 process modeling and workflow orchestration.

- Handson experience in Camunda platform deployment, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting.

- Strong understanding of microservices and eventdriven architecture.

- Experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and system integration.

- Practical experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI.

- Experience working with PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch.

- Knowledge of monitoring, observability, and production support.

- Experience deploying and managing Camunda 8 in cloud environments.

- Knowledge of Camunda cluster architecture, Zeebe brokers, and distributed workflow execution.

- Experience with Camunda Connectors and external task or job workers.

- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

- Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or similar monitoring tools.

- Understanding of workflow resiliency, fault tolerance, retries, and incident handling.

- Experience in Agile delivery environments using Scrum or Kanban.
