Role Overview :
As an EDIFECS Support Engineer at CGI, you will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for our clients' EDIFECS-based systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, analysts, and project managers, to troubleshoot issues, implement solutions, and ensure the smooth operation of EDI processes. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and accuracy of healthcare data exchange, contributing to improved patient care and streamlined administrative processes.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide technical support to clients for EDIFECS-related issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimizing disruptions to business operations.
- Analyze and troubleshoot complex EDI transaction errors, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
- Monitor system performance and proactively identify potential issues, implementing preventative measures to maintain system stability.
- Collaborate with development teams to implement system enhancements and upgrades, ensuring seamless integration and minimal impact on existing processes.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for EDIFECS systems, including troubleshooting guides, configuration manuals, and release notes.
- Participate in on-call rotation to provide after-hours support for critical system issues, ensuring business continuity.
- Work closely with business analysts to understand client requirements and translate them into technical solutions within the EDIFECS environment.
Required Skillset :
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to EDIFECS products, including SpecBuilder, Transaction Management, and XEngine.
- Proven expertise in EDI standards, including ANSI X12 and HIPAA, with a strong understanding of healthcare transactions (837, 835, 270/271, 276/277).
- Experience with database technologies such as Oracle, SQL Server, or DB2, including the ability to write and execute SQL queries.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
