We are seeking an experienced SAP ABAP RAP Lead to drive the design and development of scalable, high-performance applications using the RESTful ABAP Programming Model (RAP). The ideal candidate will lead technical delivery, mentor teams, and ensure best practices across the development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead end-to-end development of SAP ABAP applications using RAP (RESTful Application Programming Model).

- Architect scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions aligned with business requirements.

- Drive design decisions for S/4HANA-based applications.

- Collaborate with functional teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.

- Develop and enhance applications using :

1. Core ABAP (OO ABAP, Reports, Enhancements)

2. CDS Views (Core Data Services)

3. OData Services (V2/V4)

4. Fiori Elements / UI5 integration

- Ensure timely delivery of high-quality code adhering to coding standards.

- Optimize performance of SAP applications on HANA.

- Design and implement :

1. Behavior Definitions and Implementations

2. Business Objects (BO)

3. Managed and Unmanaged RAP scenarios

- Work with draft handling, validations, determinations, and actions in RAP.

- Exposure to ABAP Cloud / Embedded Steampunk is a strong plus.

- Conduct code reviews and enforce best practices.

- Ensure adherence to SDLC processes, version control, and transport management.

- Implement automated checks and quality gates.

- Maintain proper technical documentation.

- Mentor junior developers and conduct knowledge-sharing sessions.

- Guide team on RAP framework, ABAP modernization, and clean code practices.

- Assist in task planning, estimation, and sprint execution (Agile/Scrum).

- Work closely with business stakeholders, architects, and cross-functional teams.

- Participate in requirement gathering, solution design, and UAT support.

- Provide technical consultation and troubleshooting support.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Strong expertise in SAP ABAP (7+ years).

- Hands-on experience with :

1. RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming Model) Mandatory

2. CDS Views, AMDP, and HANA optimization

3. OData Services (V2/V4)

4. SAP Fiori / UI5 integration

- Experience in S/4HANA implementations or conversions.

- Object-Oriented ABAP

- Enhancements (BADI, User Exits)

- Workflow, Interfaces (IDocs, RFC, APIs)

- Experience with ABAP Cloud / SAP BTP

- Exposure to CAP (Cloud Application Programming Model)

- Integration knowledge (SAP CPI / APIs)

- Familiarity with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines

- Strong leadership and team mentoring abilities

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

- Effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders

- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
