Role Summary :

We are seeking a high-caliber Data Modeler to join our data architecture team in Chennai.

In this role, you will act as a "Data Architect and Design Lead," responsible for transforming complex business requirements into scalable, high-performance data structures.

You will be the bridge between raw business needs and enterprise-level data warehouses, ensuring that every data element is logically placed and physically optimized.

The ideal candidate is an expert in ER and Dimensional Modeling, possesses deep hands-on experience with ER Studio, and has a proven track record of designing schemas that power high-concurrency enterprise systems.

Responsibilities :

- Comprehensive Data Design : Architect conceptual, logical, and physical data models that align with long-term enterprise data strategy and business objectives.

- Relational & ER Modeling : Build sophisticated Entity-Relationship (ER) models for operational systems, ensuring data integrity, normalization, and efficient transaction processing.

- Dimensional Warehousing : Design and develop high-performance dimensional models, including Star and Snowflake schemas, specifically tailored for data warehouse environments.

- Tooling Mastery (ER Studio) : Utilize ER Studio as the primary design environment to document, manage, and communicate complex data architectures to stakeholders.

- Governance & Integration Alignment : Ensure all data models comply with organizational data governance, master data management (MDM), and data integration frameworks.

- Performance & Scalability Optimization : Refine physical data models to optimize query performance, minimize storage latency, and ensure the system scales with increasing data volumes.

- Data Quality Engineering : Implement constraints, triggers, and validation rules within the model to maintain high data quality and consistency across the enterprise.

- Multi-Paradigm Modeling : Apply solid SQL and NoSQL knowledge to design hybrid data structures that accommodate both structured and semi-structured data requirements.

- Collaborative Architecture : Work closely with Data Engineers, DBAs, and Business Analysts to translate "business talk" into "technical schemas" that are both actionable and robust.

- Legacy Refactoring : Analyze and re-engineer existing legacy data structures to improve efficiency and support modern analytics initiatives.

Technical Requirements :

- Domain Expertise : 5+ years of dedicated, hands-on experience in data modeling for large-scale enterprise systems.

- Modeling Methodology : Expert-level knowledge of ER Modeling and Dimensional Modeling (Kimball/Inmon).

- Tool Proficiency : Mandatory hands-on experience with ER Studio (experience with Erwin or PowerDesigner is a plus).

- Database Knowledge : Strong proficiency in SQL and familiarity with NoSQL database design principles.

- Warehouse Experience : Proven exposure to working within Data Warehouse (DWH) or Data Lake environments.

Preferred Skills :

- Cloud Data Platforms : Familiarity with modeling for cloud warehouses like Snowflake, AWS Redshift, or Google BigQuery.

- Automation : Experience with data modeling automation or metadata management tools.

- Agile Data : Understanding of agile data modeling techniques and CI/CD for data pipelines
