BNI - Manager - Application Development

Description :

The Senior Manager - Application Development leads BNIs application development function, overseeing the design, development, and delivery of scalable software solutions for the organizations global business networking platform.

This role requires a strategic, hands on leader who can guide technical teams, drive innovation, and ensure that development initiatives align with business objectives.

The Senior Manager collaborates closely with cross?functional partners across product, design, and global leadership teams.

Roles and Responsibilities :

- Oversee the full application development lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery of high quality software products.

- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.

- Partner with product management, design, and other stakeholders to define project scope, requirements, and priorities.

- Establish and enforce best practices for software development, including coding standards, testing methodologies, and deployment processes.

- Monitor project progress, manage risks, and ensure effective resource allocation.

- Evaluate emerging technologies and tools, making recommendations to enhance development efficiency and product quality.

- Develop and maintain documentation for processes, architecture, and systems.

- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to the business networking and SaaS ecosystem.

Key Skills & Technical Requirements :

Technical Skills :

- Strong expertise in Python and object oriented design.

- Proficiency in multiple programming languages and frameworks (e.g., Java, .NET, Python, React).

- Experience with Python frameworks such as Django, Flask, and FastAPI.

- Knowledge of RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud?native architecture.

- Hands on experience with AWS and cloud services.

- Familiarity with databases such as MySQL and MongoDB.

- Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.

- Experience with messaging and streaming technologies such as Apache Kafka (confluent?python) and RabbitMQ.

- Strong understanding of security, scalability, and system performance considerations.

- Experience working in Agile environments and using project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Trello).

Management & Soft Skills :

- Proven experience managing teams of 5+ engineers (10+ preferred), including global or onshore/offshore teams.

Job Requirements :

- Business Level English Proficiency

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (Masters preferred).

- 7+ years of experience in software development, including 3+ years in a technical leadership or engineering management role.

- Proven track record of leading end?to?end application development projects from conception to deployment.

- Experience managing teams of 10+ engineers, including global or onshore/offshore teams.

- Experience in product based companies or large's cale enterprise systems (preferred).

Preferred Qualifications :

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or related field.

- Experience in product?based companies or large's cale enterprise systems.

- Knowledge of data engineering, AI/ML, or analytics.

- Experience with data and AI integration, including vector databases for AI ready middleware pipelines.
