Job Title : Senior PostgreSQL Database Administrator

Education Qualification : B.Tech/B.E. in Computer Science, IT or MCA

Job Summary :

our team in Noida. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of our PostgreSQL database systems. This role requires deep expertise in database architecture, performance tuning, indexing, and backup/recovery strategies.

Key Responsibilities :

- Manage database security, integrity, and backup procedures.

- Design and implement robust backup and recovery solutions.

- Monitor database performance and proactively tune SQL queries and server configurations.

- Create and maintain database objects including tables, indexes, views, stored procedures, and triggers.

- Implement effective indexing and partitioning strategies to improve performance and scalability.

- Collaborate with development teams for schema design, query optimization, and application support.

- Plan and execute database migrations, upgrades, and patch management.

- Maintain high availability and disaster recovery setups.

- Automate routine DBA tasks using shell scripts or Python.

- Prepare and maintain documentation including SOPs, architecture diagrams, and incident reports.

- Provide on-call support and resolve critical database issues as needed.

Required Skills and Experience :

- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture and internals.

- Deep understanding of database design, performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization.

- Hands-on experience in implementing backup and disaster recovery solutions.

- Expertise in performance monitoring tools (e.g., pg_stat_statements, pgBadger).

- Proficiency with scripting languages (Bash, Python, or similar) for automation.

- Experience with replication (logical/streaming), partitioning, and connection pooling.

- Familiarity with Linux/Unix systems and cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure).

- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle high-pressure situations.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience with tools like Ansible, Terraform, or other infrastructure-as-code technologies.

- Exposure to other database technologies like MySQL or Oracle is a plus.
