About The Role :

As an Application Developer (BMC) at Balfour Beatty, you will be responsible for the development and technical delivery of business capabilities within our BMC Platform.

This is primarily working with BMC Innovation Studio and BMC Business Workflows, as well as BMC Helix Digital Workplace/Digital Workplace Catalog, Mid-Tier and Smart IT.

You will primarily collaborate with our HR function, supporting, developing, and improving their current solutions throughout the wider BMC environment.

This position will expose you to a range of technologies and offer opportunities to broaden your skill set in additional areas.

Accountabilities :

1. Development and Maintenance :

- Develop, configure, and maintain applications within the BMC toolset, including BMC Innovation Studio, BMC Helix Digital Workplace/Digital Workplace Catalog, Remedy ITSM, and Smart IT.

2. Platform Enhancement :

- Work collaboratively with the BMC Team to develop and mature our BMC Platform, ensuring best practices are implemented and adhered to.

3. Problem-Solving :

- Troubleshoot and quickly identify defects and risks, providing effective solutions to business problems.

4. Requirement Gathering :

- Gather requirements from business users, make recommendations, and estimate the effort to complete the work.

5. Collaboration and Support :

- Collaborate with the BMC SaaS team to resolve issues and ensure the platform's reliability and performance.

6. Documentation :

- Maintain comprehensive documentation for all development and configuration activities, ensuring knowledge sharing and continuity.

Key Skills & Personal Qualities :

1. Experience :

- 5 years of developing within the BMC Platform.

- Hands-on experience in development life cycles.

- Development experience with BMC Innovation Studio or BMC Business Workflows.

- Experience with developing in BMC Helix Digital Workplace/Digital Workplace Catalog is Essential.

- Experience with ITSM modules such as Incident, Task, Problem, and Change Management in BMC Remedy.

2. Technical Skills :

- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.

- Excellent organisational and time management skills.

- Accuracy and attention to detail in all development activities.

- Design, develop, and maintain solutions that safeguard personal data and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.

- Solid understanding of integration concepts, with experience designing, developing, and supporting integrations between BMC platforms and third parties.
