Backend Developer - AWS/Node.js

We are seeking a Backend Developer to join our team, responsible for building and maintaining cloud-native backend services and APIs on AWS. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with JavaScript (ES6), AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and other serverless/cloud technologies. You will work closely with frontend developers, DevOps, and product teams to design scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend solutions. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, problem-solving skills, and excellent communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs on AWS using serverless architecture (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, etc.).

- Write clean, reusable, and efficient code in JavaScript (Node.js / ES6) for backend functionality.

- Implement cloud-native design patterns for scalability, reliability, and performance optimization.

- Integrate with third-party APIs, internal services, and frontend applications.

- Participate in architecture design discussions, proposing solutions for complex backend problems.

- Ensure security best practices, data protection, and compliance in all backend systems.

- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues to ensure high availability and reliability.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, frontend developers, and QA, to deliver end-to end solutions.

- Maintain technical documentation for APIs, workflows, and backend architecture.

- Stay updated with latest cloud technologies and best practices to improve system efficiency.

Technical Skills Required :

- Strong experience with JavaScript (ES6+) and Node.js

- Hands-on experience with AWS services: Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, CloudWatch

- Knowledge of serverless architecture patterns and best practices

- Experience in building RESTful APIs or GraphQL endpoints

- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and automated deployments

- Strong problem-solving skills and experience with performance optimization of backend services

- Understanding of security, authentication, and authorization mechanisms

Preferred / Nice-to-Have :

- Experience with Microservices architecture

- Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (ECS/EKS)

- Experience with message queues or event-driven architectures (SQS, SNS, Kafka)

- Familiarity with NoSQL and SQL databases (DynamoDB, RDS, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
