Job Description

Position Summary :

Axtria is seeking an experienced Techno-Functional SME to bridge business and technical domains in pharmaceutical data operations, analytics and governance.

Candidate must have extensive hands-on experience with modern data tools like Informatica IDMC, Databricks, Python along with understanding of regulatory and business landscapes of Japan's pharmaceutical industry.

Candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize data workflows, provide domain expertise and support strategic initiatives for transforming pharma data ecosystems.

Job Responsibilities :

Technical Responsibilities :

- Develop and maintain ETL pipelines for data ingestion, transformation and processing in IDMC and Databricks.

- Write and optimize Python scripts for data extraction, transformation and automation.

- Leverage Databricks for advanced analytics, data engineering and machine learning workflows.

- Handle structured and unstructured data, including datasets in PDF or raw text formats.

Pharma Domain Expertise :

- Support projects involving pharma datasets, such as HCP targeting, sales analytics, patient data and claims analysis.

- Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical regulations, including data privacy and regulatory standards (e. PMDA).

- Provide insights on commercial operations, market segmentation and patient trends in pharmaceutical landscape.

Stakeholder Engagement :

- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and define data solutions aligning with business objectives.

- Act as a liaison between technical teams and business units, ensuring mutual understanding of goals and deliverables.

- Conduct workshops, training and presentations to enable stakeholders to leverage data solutions effectively.

Process Improvement and Governance :

- Drive the adoption of best practices in data governance, quality and operational efficiency.

- Support Agile project execution, participating in sprint planning, backlog grooming and retrospectives.

- Identify and implement process improvements to ensure scalable and future-ready data ecosystems.

Education :

B. Tech or Masters degree in Computer Science, Data Science or related fields.

Work Experience :

- 8+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or life sciences domain.

- 3+ years of experience in a techno-functional role, with expertise in pharma data ecosystems.

- Hands-on experience in tools and platforms like Informatica IDMC, Databricks and Python.

- Demonstrated expertise in handling pharma datasets like IQVIA, Veeva CRM, patient claims or sales data.

- Previous experience working within the Japan pharmaceutical regulatory environment is highly desirable.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

- Familiarity with working in the Japanese business environment and understanding cultural nuances.

Technical Competencies :

- Expertise in ETL development and automation using IDMC and Databricks.

- Proficiency in Python, with familiarity in PySpark for big data processing.

- Strong experience with cloud-based data warehousing solutions e. Redshift or Snowflake

- Hands-on experience in large-scale data processing, analytics using Databricks.

- Working knowledge of Cloud Platforms e. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud.

- Understanding of Japans pharmaceutical data regulations and their application to data platforms.

- Familiarity with tools and frameworks for data cataloging, quality management and compliance tracking
