AWS Scala Developer - Big Data Technologies

About the Role :

We are looking for a highly skilled AWS Scala Developer with strong expertise in Big Data technologies to join our growing team.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working in large-scale data environments, leveraging Spark and Scala to build scalable, high-performance data processing solutions.

You will play a key role in designing, developing, and deploying cloud-based data pipelines and applications on AWS.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Big Data solutions using Spark and Scala.

- Develop data ingestion and processing pipelines on Hadoop ecosystems including Hive and Sqoop.

- Work closely with data engineers and architects to optimize performance and ensure data quality.

- Implement and maintain data solutions on AWS cloud infrastructure, utilizing services such as EMR, S3, Lambda, and others.

- Develop scripts and automation tools using Python or Java to support data workflows (preferred but not mandatory).

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

- Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes to ensure robust and efficient delivery.

- Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline issues in production environments.

- Stay updated on emerging Big Data and cloud technologies to recommend improvements.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Minimum 6 years in software development with at least 3 years of relevant experience in Scala and Spark.

- Hands-on experience with Hadoop ecosystem tools such as Hive and Sqoop.

- Proficient in AWS services related to Big Data (EMR, S3, Lambda, etc.

- Strong programming skills in Scala; experience with Python scripting or Java programming is a plus.

- Expertise in building ETL/ELT pipelines and managing large datasets efficiently.

- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

- Good verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration within a team and with stakeholders.

- Ability to work independently and as part of an agile team
