Summary :

The Data Migration Engineer will be a key contributor to our data migration project, focusing on developing and implementing advanced, AI-driven workflows for complex data migration and ETL processes.

This role requires hands-on expertise in Python, XML, SQL, and the application of Agentic AI paradigms to ensure the development of a fully validated tool for accurate, efficient, and auditable movement of critical life sciences data across systems.

Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain robust data migration and ETL pipelines using Python and Agentic AI workflow tools.

- Implement and manage data transformation logic for data stored in various formats, including CDISC ODM XML, tabular formats, and SQL sources (specifically PostgreSQL).

- Integrate with various systems using REST APIs for data extraction and loading.

- Develop comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure the quality, accuracy, and reliability of all data migration processes.

- Execute data migration pipelines and workflows, leveraging Agentic AI tools to orchestrate and automate complex, multi-step data movements and transformations to successfully migrate data to the target system.

- Ensure strict adherence to data governance and quality standards by implementing automated data verification checks and production of comprehensive validation reports.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product Management and Professional Services) to understand data requirements and ensure successful data transition.

- Troubleshoot and resolve complex data-related issues, optimizing performance for large-scale data operations.

- Document data architecture, migration plans, and Agentic workflow designs.

- Adhere to best practices for data governance and security in a regulated environment.

Requirements and skills :

- 7+ years of professional experience focused on data migration, ETL/ELT development, or data warehousing.

- 7+ years of leveraging the Python language for data processing, scripting, and developing data pipelines.

- Strong expertise in working with relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL, including complex SQL query writing and optimization.

- Hands-on experience developing and deploying solutions using AI tools and specifically with Agentic AI workflows (e.g., using tools like MCP, OpenAIs Agent Builder, custom agents, or similar technologies for automated data tasks) is a significant plus.

- Experience developing comprehensive unit tests for data pipelines and transformation logic.

- Familiarity with data formats, including XML and JSON.

- Experience consuming REST APIs for data integration.

- Experience working in a regulated industry, such as life sciences, healthcare, or finance, is a significant plus.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex data concepts to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
