Role Summary :

The Engineering Lead role is for a Jira and Confluence Expert who has hands-on experience in leading large-scale migration activity from Data Centre to Cloud. The role involves design and implementation of the end-to-end solution for the Atlassian Cloud migration, approach, and plan, including the near real-time data replica, abstraction API, and integration patterns. This role ensures the solution is robust, scalable, secure, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards and plays the role of technical lead for the team involved in preparation for migration of Jira and Confluence from DC to Cloud, pilot and actual migration, and post-migration activities.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and implementation of end-to-end solution for Atlassian Cloud migration, approach and plan.

- Technically lead the team during pre-migration phase (Discovery, Cleansing, Standardisation, Design of Target solution), migration execution (Pilot Migration, UAT, Production Migration) and post-migration phase (detailed validation, reconciliation, hyper care and BAU Handover).

- Jira Lead architecture design for data replica, sync engine, abstraction API, and integration landscape.

- Define canonical data models, API contracts, and mode-switch logic.

- Ensure security, compliance, and data governance requirements are met.

- Evaluate and select technology platforms (DB, API gateway, integration tools).

- Produce architecture artefacts (diagrams, specifications, decision logs).

- Review and approve detailed designs from engineering teams.

- Advise on performance, scalability, and resilience.

- Support program manager in technical risk management and stakeholder engagement.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 8+ years in Jira Org and Project Administration.

- 3+ years as Engineering / Technical Lead and has led large-scale migration projects in solution or enterprise architecture roles.

- Experience designing large-scale data Atlassian migration for large customer/instances.

- Deep knowledge of API design, data modeling, and cloud/on-prem hybrid architectures.

- Familiarity with Atlassian Cloud APIs, REST, and event-driven architectures.

- Strong documentation and communication skills.

- TOGAF, AWS/Azure/GCP architect certification a plus (not must).
