About the Role :

We are looking for a Backend Developer who is comfortable building and scaling high-performance APIs with Python and FastAPI. Youll work on core platform services that power OneLens building the APIs that help companies track and optimise millions in cloud and AI spend across AWS, GCP, Azure, and beyond.

This is a hands-on individual-contributor role where you will own features end-to-end and collaborate closely with senior engineers, data engineers, and frontend developers. Youll work within a small, focused engineering team where your contributions are visible from day one.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using Python and FastAPI.

- Write clean, well-tested, production-grade code with solid error handling and logging.

- Work with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and analytical stores (ClickHouse) to support multi-tenant data queries.

- Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and sprint planning.

- Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams on deployment, monitoring, and incident response.

- Own features from design through deployment, including writing documentation and runbooks.

- Ensure high availability, reliability, and security of backend services in a SaaS environment.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 24 years of professional backend development experience.

- Strong proficiency in Python (3.9+) with at least 12 years of hands-on FastAPI or equivalent async framework experience.

- Solid understanding of RESTful API design principles, authentication (JWT/OAuth), and API versioning.

- Experience with relational databases PostgreSQL preferred including schema design, query optimization, and migrations.

- Comfortable with Git-based workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized deployments (Docker).

- Basic experience with Kubernetes should have deployed applications to a cluster and troubleshot pod/service-level issues.

- Good understanding of software design patterns, SOLID principles, and writing testable code.

- Strong problem-solving mindset with clear communication skills.

- Knowledge of any major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

- Prior experience working in early-stage or high-growth startup environments.
