AS400 Developer - BFSI Domain

Role Overview :

As an AS400 Developer, you will be responsible for the maintenance, enhancement, and optimization of mission-critical core banking and enterprise applications. You will work closely with cross-functional project teams and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into robust, scalable code. Your contributions will directly impact the stability and performance of high-volume transaction systems, ensuring seamless operations for our clients' end users and maintaining the integrity of their data-heavy environments.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and develop high-performance applications using COBOL and AS400 technologies to meet evolving business requirements.

- Optimize complex SQL queries and DB2 database structures to improve system response times and data processing efficiency.

- Collaborate with system architects and business analysts to troubleshoot production issues and implement long-term technical fixes.

- Perform rigorous code reviews and unit testing to ensure the delivery of high-quality, bug-free software solutions.

- Manage the migration and integration of legacy modules with modern interfaces to support the broader digital transformation roadmap of our clients.

Required Skillset :

- Advanced capability in managing and querying DB2 databases, with a focus on performance tuning and complex data manipulation.

- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to deconstruct legacy codebases and implement modern, maintainable logic.

- Excellent communication skills, enabling you to articulate technical constraints and solutions to non-technical stakeholders effectively.

- Proven ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment based in Mumbai, with the adaptability to handle shifting project priorities.

- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, supported by 5 to 12 years of hands-on experience in enterprise-level development.
