Must Have Skills :

- Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

- 4-6+ years of experience in AI Engineering.

- Hands-on experience with large language models (GPT-4/5, Gemini) and Azure AI/Google Gemini.

- Proficiency in Python, Git, Anaconda, PiP, Docker, and cloud services.

- Proven ability to develop production-ready libraries and deliver production systems.

- Experience building, validating, and deploying ML models and AI agents (RAG, Agentic AI, Agentic RAT).

- Strong MLOps skills: pipelines, versioning, monitoring, drift detection, rollback.

- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, able to explain tradeoffs and decisions clearly.

- Demonstrable previous work with LLM interfaces (code repositories may be requested).

Nice to Have Skills :

- Experience with agent orchestration, deterministic controls, and human-in-the-loop escalation.

- Familiarity with FastAPI, Azure Functions, containers, and cloud deployment (Azure, OpenAI, Google Gemini).

- Ability to build production-grade feature pipelines (batch and real-time).

- Knowledge of rigorous model evaluation: cross-validation, bias checks, calibration, uplift analysis.

- Experience writing runbooks, dashboards, and incident playbooks for model failures.

Day to Dayv :

A growing company based in Bloomington, Illinois is looking to add a AI Engineer to their team. As an AI Engineer at Afni, youll design, develop, and deploy production AI solutions, including ML models, LLM systems, and AI agents.

Youll build tool-using agents for multi-step tasks, implement agent orchestration and human-in-the-loop processes, and develop RAG pipelines for retrieval-augmented tooling.

Your role includes owning end-to-end ML workflows, deploying models as APIs or batch jobs, and ensuring robust MLOps practices. Youll monitor model performance, handle cloud deployments, and maintain documentation and incident playbooks. Collaboration, continuous improvement, and clear communication are key as you help drive Afnis transition to an AI-driven company.
