Job Description :

Key Responsibilities :

- Application Environment Management : Perform installation, configuration, patching, cloning, and upgrades of enterprise application environments (e.g., Oracle E-Business Suite, SAP, etc., specify if known).

- Database Administration for Apps : Manage the databases supporting these applications, including performance tuning, space management, user administration, and troubleshooting database-related issues specific to the application layer.

- Patching & Maintenance : Plan and execute regular patching cycles for both the application tier and database tier, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

- Cloning & Refresh : Perform application and database cloning for development, testing, and training environments.

- Performance Tuning : Monitor the performance of both the application and database layers, identifying bottlenecks and implementing optimizations to enhance system responsiveness.

- Troubleshooting : Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to application and database environments, collaborating with functional teams and vendors as needed.

- Backup & Recovery : Ensure robust backup and recovery strategies are in place and regularly tested for application environments.

- Monitoring : Set up and maintain monitoring tools for application and database health, proactively addressing potential issues.

- Documentation : Maintain comprehensive documentation of application architecture, configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.

- Collaboration : Work closely with functional teams, developers, infrastructure teams, and system administrators to support business operations.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience as an Apps DBA, ideally with expertise in Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) or other large enterprise applications.

- Strong experience with application patching, cloning, and upgrade processes.

- Proficiency in database administration (Oracle RDBMS preferred) including performance tuning, backup/recovery, and security.

- Familiarity with AD utilities (for Oracle EBS), concurrent managers, and application architecture.

- Strong scripting skills (Shell, Perl, Python) for automation.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to troubleshooting.

- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, critical production environment
