Applore Technologies - Engineering Manager - MERN Stack

Responsibilities :

Techno-Functional Leadership :

- Act as a bridge between business, product, and engineering teams.

- Translate business and functional requirements into robust technical solutions.

- Participate in solution design, feasibility analysis, and technical estimations.

- Own technical decision-making across both modern and legacy systems.

Architecture and System Design :

- Define and own end-to-end architecture for web, mobile, and enterprise integrations.

- Design scalable systems using the MERN stack and Python-based services.

- Architect cloud-native and hybrid solutions on AWS.

- Ensure seamless integration between modern applications and traditional systems (SAP, Oracle).

Hands-On Development :

- Actively contribute to development using the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express, React, and Node.js ), Python for backend services, automation, and integrations, and hybrid mobile applications (Flutter/Ionic/similar).

- Build and maintain REST APIs and microservices.

- Support integration layers, middleware, and data synchronisation processes.

Cloud and Infrastructure (Hands-On):

- Hands-on experience designing, deploying, and managing systems on AWS.

- Work with cloud services, including compute, storage, databases, and networking.

- Implement CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.

- Ensure security, monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery best practices.

- Optimise cloud costs and performance.

Enterprise Systems Integration:

- Lead integrations with SAP, Oracle, and other ERP/legacy systems.

- Work with APIs, middleware, ETL processes, and data pipelines.

- Ensure data consistency, security, and compliance across systems.

- Collaborate with functional consultants and business users.

Code Quality, QA, and Delivery:

- Lead code reviews and enforce engineering best practices.

- Collaborate with QA engineers to define testing strategies.

- Ensure high quality, stability, and performance across releases.

- Own production deployments and post-release support.

Team Leadership and Mentorship:

- Lead, mentor, and manage engineering teams.

- Drive technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.

- Participate in hiring, performance reviews, and team development.

Requirements:

- 7+ years of experience in software engineering with leadership responsibility.

- Strong hands-on experience with the MERN stack, Python, AWS, and cloud technologies.

- Experience building hybrid mobile applications.

- Proven experience integrating with SAP, Oracle, or similar enterprise systems.

- Strong understanding of microservices architecture, APIs and system integrations, cloud security, and scalability.

- Experience in techno-functional roles working with business stakeholders.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Good to have:

- Experience with DevOps, Docker, and Kubernetes.

- Knowledge of enterprise integration patterns.

- Experience in large-scale or regulated environments.

- Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.
